I’m an Auzzie but my dad is born in the U.K so that means I’m eligible to get a British passport.

I’m doing the UE + Egypt next year so i will be going to Egypt and Turkey which are not in Europe so my question is should i bother getting a British passport as well as my Auzzie one?

I’ve been told its much easier to get around in Europe with a British one but then others have told me it makes no difference.

Can someone who has been on a Contiki Australia tour (at least 10 days) share with us what they think would be enough to bring to Oz for spending money. I know its hard to say since it depends on the person’s spending habits, but, i know i would be looking to do a lot of optional activities and probably will be going out every night. I also will probably buy a few souvenirs. Is there a bare minimum you should definitely bring?

Hello Everyone.

This tour does not appear to be very popular.

My Eastern Discovery tour on September 29 has been cancelled (by email) less than a week after the early booking discount closed. I paid in FULL a month ago.  I have committments at either end of my tour I cannot “reschedule”.

Maybe I was the only one booked on the tour!

I would suggest that you wait until close to the time of departure before booking and paying your hard earned money for a tour that may be cancelled at a whim.

I have train tickets and plane tickets which are now worthless. Contiki wont reimburse you for costs incurred for booking on a tour THEY CANCELLED.

Please check with contiki to confirm that your tour is not cancelled.

Ciao

So, I’m hoping to take advantage of my December break from school, and save a few hundred dollars and not have to fight the mobs of people during the summer and go to Italy. I’m thinking of the one for spending new years Eve over there or going earlier in December. I am worried about exactly how much I’m going to actually enjoy the trip due to the weather. Has anyone ever gone to Italy during the winter, is it really that cold. does it rain a lot? Can you enjoy Venice? or does just being there make you forget about the weather? Or should i just wait for spring break again? i need some useful advice. anything will help. thanks.

So I am trying to decided between the two options. What is the better between the two. If you could provide pros and cons that would be greatly appreciated! I am not sure if I should chill in Mykonos? Is there lots to do? Or should I continue the voyage through the Greek Isles?

I’m thinking of doing the Grand Southern in october but i’m a bit
worried about the hotels that Contiki uses on their tours… Read some
stories about the hotel in Vegas which wasn’t very good.

I know the names of the hotels in Anaheim (LA) and New York but my dutch travelagency does not know any more names…

So could anyone give me some names of the hotels they stayed

(not only on the Grand Southern tour but   the
Contiki/USAHotels in general, so I have an idea of how the hotels are)?

I would love to hear more about your experiences in hotels during you trip!

 Thnx!

I really want to go to Cardiff, Wales, but I’ve been searching through the lists of trips and whilst there is one for Wales, it lists it as a “lunch break in Wales before heading back to London”.

What I want to know is whether there is a trip that specifically goes to Cardiff, Wales?

I’m looking at all the options while on the tour, and I’m curious which ones are best. Did anyone do the ghost train show? I’m wondering if that’s a good show…or not worth seeing? Any advice will be helpful!! Smiler

In order to be able to go on this trip, I need my parents to help pay for some of it. With this being said, that gives them a big say in whether I go or not. My mom is having some big issues with the idea of me traveling alone and just general safety issues with traveling in Europe. Can anyone provide me with some facts to tell my mom that would make her feel more comfortable with the safety of contiki? Any help is much apreciated

Going on the European Inspiration tour in July and have questions on two quick subjects:

1) Money- I’ll be taking some cash, a credit card, maybe traveler’s checks. But what do you think of debit cards? Is there a specific debit card that would be readily accepted in Europe? What about the Visa debit?

2)I’m thinking about the pros cons of taking my cell phone. I don’t think I really need it, and will probably get an international calling card. But what are other people doing, or have most people done on their trips?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hey guys,
So my tour is leaving in 23 beautifully long days… and I had a quick question about bottled water.

A friend of mine had gone to Europe last year, just a few countries… and he said the bottled water is hard to get used to, as it’s almost as if it’s carbonated. He said he drank mostly Coke for this reason. I definitely don’t want to be drinking Coke for the month I’m over there! lol

So… how’s the water in Europe? Smiler
