Ok I am a bit confused. I am leaving for Europe and I am from the USA. I wrote my bank to see their fees for using ATMs internationally and here are the fees.
$1.50 USD for not using one of their ATMs
3% conversion rate
so if I take out 100 euros that would be around 158 usd
Then the 3% added on which would be $4.74usd
So 158+4.74+1.50=164.24 usd this is what would be taking out of my account.
Please help me if Im wrong
Thanks everyone

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew what the ‘call for availability’ status means for booking a trip. I have a friend who is wants to go on the same trip I am booked for, and all of the sudden she called and they said she had to be on a wait list. Yet, the status on the website does not say ‘unavailable’ but rather says ‘call for availability’. Has anyone experienced this and still gotten through (i.e. booked the trip)?
thanks in advance

Hi all,
After 2 my tours i’ll be heading to Greece where (if all goes well fingers crossed) I am hoping to remain there long term.
I’m looking for a flly furnished apartment to rent in Athens. I’ve found a few websites that advertise private rentals available but not as many as i’d like.
Does anybody know any good websites or contacts???

Hi i am looking at doing the highlights tour (Sept 22 to 5 oct) have booked in, just not paid deposit yet,
A few questions I have first of all is Tap water safe to drink in the places we will be going? (France, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium)
Can we carry food with us? I get very low energy so i was thinking of having Muesli bars/ packet of foods/ Sweets with me (stuff that wont spoil) is that ok to do? (hoping to buy in London)
what is the weather like end sept/ beginning October?
and we need to carry a sleeping bag, does this have to fit inside my luggage? or can i have it separate? (tied onto my bag)
Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,
I know that this may have been discussed before now, but I can’t seem to find the thread.
I am going to be doing the Simply Italy tour in July and was wondering whether anyone has been on a tour this year where the buses have the facility to charge you ipod… Does this facility also cater to the Mp3?
Sorry I am a real novice when it comes to gadjets and want to get whatever ones is easiest to charge OS without having to take my laptop.
Thanks in advance.

I’m going on the 21 Day European Camping tour. It will be my first time going over seas and just have a few concerns and questions.
1. What do we need to take on the tour?
2. How often do we do laundry? (Just want to know so i can work out how much clothes to pack)
3. What are the temperatures like in Europe in September?

Hey everyone! Probably should’ve thought of this before, but do I need to tell contiki in advance that I want the complimentary transfer from Paris back to London? Or just let them know while I’m on tour? I leave in two days…

Hi all,
I’ll be on Reefs and Rainforests this month. I was wondering how much actual cash I should be bringing along for my trip.
I understand from reading some of the other posts that I should be budgeting about A$100 per day. I hope to be able to pay for my optionals, large purchases, and hopefully, most meals, via credit cards. However, being non-Australian, there will be some exhorbitant bank charges if I withdraw cash via ATM, so I hope to not do so. In the circumstances, how much in actual cash should I be bringing along?
Grateful for any help I can get. Thanks!!

Hello, I am doing a project for an exchange program I will be going on this summer. For this project I need to list things that tourists would normally buy in Europe, I couldn’t find much on Google so i decided to ask here.
would you please list anything you think is a “must get” in Europe? and, if you can, how much it is?
thank you!

Hi all, my husband, myself and my sister in law are wanting to do contiki in sept 08. Was wanting to do the european inspiration as we want to be in munich during oktoberfest. Is this a good tour to do? Also do many married couples do the tours? Don’t want to feel like the odd ones out!!! All feedback appreciated.
Thanx

I am thinking about going on the European Discovery in April. Just wondering, from others experience, how many hours do you spend each day on the bus? My husband is really tall and does not enjoy sitting for long period of time, he gets backaches from it.I am also hoping we will have enough time to hang out with the local.
Any comments on that?

I was wondering what sort of backpack/daybag everyone took on their Simply Italy trip. I hear the pick pocketing can be pretty bad in places. Not sure what i should go with. Any advice would be great.

Hello there! I’m thinking of going to Europe for my 2nd Contiki (1st was Greek Island Hopping a few yrs ago) and would like your input from your experiences/recommendation… I would like to spend sometime under the sun/beach, at least 2 days in most stopovers (to be able to enjoy and not drag myself), and unfortunately I’m limited to max of approx. 2 weeks (depending on holidays/weekends).
When traveling I love culture, partying, the beach and some adventure.
Greatly appreciated.

PS: I’ll share my experience of Greek Island Hopping if anyone is interested.
