hi all…
i’m currently booked on a Beaches & Reefs tour, going from Sydney to Cairns… i have about 5-6 days from the end of the tour to get back to Sydney to catch my flight home, and was wondering about some options of getting back to Sydney.
in Europe, trains were easy & cheap, but a quick search found that a train from Cairns to Sydney was quite expensive.
would flying be the best/cheapest option?

Hi everyone.
I’m just really interested in finding out how much money everyone has exchanged into cash before they left. I am having real trouble figuring out how much to take in cash. I’m spending two nights in london before my tour starts, so i thought i’d get 100 pounds in cash. Then my europe tour starts on the third day – so i thought i’d get enough euros to pay my tour leader for the optional excursions.
Did anyone bother getting swiss francs for one night in lucerne?
and what do i do about this – after my europe tour, i’m doing egypt and the nile tour…. apparently, travelex have to order in egyptian pounds. Do i organise this at heathrow airport the day i arrive, so they will be ready when i leave for egypt? I’m assuming its better to take egyptian pounds than USD to egypt????
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks heaps
Kathryn

Can anyone give me directions from the Gatwick Airport to the Imperial Hotel? I am saving about $500 flying into Gatwick and I hope I don’t regret it!

-What is the accommodation like?
-How long are the bus trips inbetween the destinations?

Hi everyone!
For anyone that’s done either the 3 or 5 day London Explorer, would you happpen to know the name of the company that does the included sightseeing tour?
If not, could someone perhaps give me a general idea of what you see? Is it pretty comprehensive in terms of attractions? Just trying to plan my week there!
Many thanks!!!

I just got back from Contiki’s London to Athens… and I’m not going to lie, I had the most incredible time and am counting the days until I have another holiday. On my Europe tour, it was about 90% ozzies. I’m wondering if I did an Australian tour, where do most people come from? (US, Canada, England, etc).

How safe is the camp site? What’s to stop someone from stealing your belongings-do the tents come with locks?

So, I am doing the Tuscany trip next week. My original plan was for a suitcase, a backpack for my camera gear, and another briefcase sized carryon for other plane/bus gear. But, the travel docs I just got said that we are allowed one suitcase and one carryon. Is that a hard unbreakable limit? I’d have to completely alter my packing plan, which took me weeks to formulate while daydreaming at work….

Hiya
I am planning on doing the Grand Southern and was just wondering if tours are ever cancelled. For example if one books for a specific tour what are the chances that it will be cancelled??

Do we get to see any of these on the European Discovery?
Are there any ruins of this “IN” Rome, or are they mostly outside of Rome. I can’t really find anything when I Google it..just old ancient maps.
Thanks.

My partner and I are looking at taking the famous Greek Island Hopping Tour mid next year and would very much appreciate any news or reviews from past travellers or people looking at heading over to Europe for this tour mid next year.
I know that in the past, this tour has pretty much been reviewed as a full on non-stop party tour and although I am ready to go over there with an open-mind and to have a good time, I am also there to explore the countries and islands and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on us not being able to achieve that due to a lack of like-minded fellow tourers or TM’s?
Also, thoughts on travelling as a couple? Are we likely to meet other couples?
My partner and I are 26 and 24 respectively and from the Gold Coast, Australia.
Look forward to hearing from everyone! ![]()
