hey there,
I am an artist.. I have a website if anyone cares. http://captainmania.deviantart.com
but anyway, I was wondering if it would be cool if I brought art supplies on my trip. a fold-up easel, canvases, paints. or maybe just a sketchpad to capture cool stuff with.
Would I have free time to work on art? and would it be a problem carrying them?
I’m going on the 32 day europe camping tour.
Thanks!
Brendan

Hi! I am going on this tour all by myself, is anyone else going too? I’m a bit confused on how we get from the airport to the Hotel meeting place… : /

I am looking at booking the Simply Italy tour in July this year, and wanted to know whether the hotels are centrally located (ie in the city centre) or whether they are far out? Did people stay back in the city at night and enjoy the city or head back to their hotel rooms with the bus?

Hello, everyone!
I’ll be doing the 18-day European Whirl (With a few before and after days) and I had some questions regarding packing.
Since I’ll obviously be doing my clothes washing along the way, I was planning on taking 2 pairs of long pants, 1 pair of shorts (due to the cathedral issue) and four shirts – is this enough, too much or too little? How liberal are most of the churches with the pants policy (outside of Rome?)
Also, I was wondering, should I bring a wide-brimmed hat? I’ve heard several people recommend them to help with the sun, but I’m not 100% sure (mostly because I don’t want to end up looking like a cowboy) – any thoughts?
Finally, are there any strange odds and ends that you found particularly useful on your trip, if you’ve already been? Any suggestions?

I just heard on the news that they’re expecting a cyclone in North Queensland. Apparently one of the biggest in years.
I feel sorry for anyone who is there on a tour if this thing hits! Be careful guys!

How comfortable was the cruise and the train for sleeping? I am bringing a set of travel sheets just in case. Was it gross?

Hi All,
This question is for someone that has actually been over to Europe. I was wondering what the usual type of clothing was when going out to the clubs in Europe? Is it the same sort of fashion as you would wear when clubbing in Australia or is it a bit more casual like going to a pub?
I just want to make sure i look the part and don’t over dress or under dress ![]()
Any info would be great

Hey,
Has anyone heard of TravelSIM?
I will be overseas for 5 weeks.
I am wondering if i should get a phone card or the ekit from contiki to call back home only for emergency.
Or should i just skip it and just email back home.
Thanks!

Hey ! I hope this does not come accross as a dumb question but how do you charge your camera`s and phones on camping tours?
How do you get access to electrical outlets ?
Iam doing the Euro Discovery in June (first Contiki) but iam thinking of a camping tour as my 2nd trip to Europe.
Cheers.

Hi Everyone –
I am going on the Inspiration tour May 17h – June 6th. I am using my miles and flying in and out of London. The trip says that you will get to the Paris airport by 10 a.m. Anyone know what time you will get into London from the free Contiki transfer ride from Paris?
Thanks,

Right… i can’t find this challenge elsewhere, so it may just be unique to sarah™ but darn it, i wanna know!! Who else has tried the fergburger challenge? Has anyone else finished it?
FYI the fergburger challenge goes as thus: While in Q-Town, you must finish no less than 2 “Big Al” burgers, and 2 chips, within 12 hours.
So, who has attempted it? who finished it? and who took one look and said, “no way”?

Hi All, i’m doing the grand Southern in December, but after we finish we’ve got some time in NY, Toronto & Chicago.
I’m desperate to get to an NHL game, but i can’t find any season schedule on any of the team websites.
Anyone have any info on the schedule for this year? Or know good places to get tickets?
Thanks heaps,![]()

hey guys,
anyone planning to take this trip in June or July ‘08? If you’ve gone during these months, how’s the weather there?
Also, in Australia, does summer refer to our winter months and vice versa?
lastly, anyone know if airfare is included in the prices listed on the contiki website?
thanks!

Hi, Im an Aussie and Im doing the UE+Egypt in July/August this year. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the Visa requirements for the Ultimate European tour with Egypt option. I lived and worked in the UK last year after obtaining a 2 year UK working holiday Visa which expires at the end of this year. Do I require another visa – this Schengen Visa? – and is it true you can obtain visas for Turkey and Egypt upon arrival with an Australian passport? I don’t want to take any chances… ![]()

Forgive me for bringing up the topic of money – I know a lot has been discussed before. I have had conflicting advice about what to take to Europe in terms of money. I already have a debit and Visa card. I am planning on taking at least a couple hundred in each currency to get me started.
My first question – Is it necessary to have a second debit card as backup (from another bank)? I was wondering if the potential of having your debit card eaten by an ATM is high.
Secondly, is it better to convert a lot of money here in Canada before I go, or take a small amount and withdraw more money from ATM’s in Europe?
Thank you in advance for your help!
