I wanted to bring my mobile, but dont want to do roaming. Its unlocked, and a tri band phone, so it will work in America. I wanted to know, do they sell prepaid sim cards there like they do in Australia? (e.g like the vodafone $2 sim that you just top up whenever?). I mainly want it so my parents can call from home.

Hi everyone,
I am looking at doing the 46 days camping next year the dates don’t come out till October so not exactly sure when yet but was looking at around May. Can anyone please give me any info on what the trip was like for them and if they would do it again. I am traveling by myself and am 21 but will be 22 when I leave. I am from Sydney but not really a prissy girl. I have camped before as a kid and enjoyed it. Really any information would be fantastic. I am going camping because I want to make my money stretch as far as possible and the 46 days seemed like a great introduction to Europe and went to many fantastic places.
Cheers Lizzie

Hello all, Im new to all this.
Im hoping to go on the scenic southern at the end of July… By myself
it will be my first contiki, i think i will start small and then build my confidence up slowly, Europe is definitely on my list.
Anyone out there interested in going to NZ in July???

I know that Contiki offers the option to arrive a day early or leave a day late. I’m doing the London/Paris/Rome tour and would like to fly into London a day earlier. Has anyone done this and would you recommend it? I’m just afraid that my tour won’t offer enough free time in London to just explore things I’m interested in. Is it much more to add an extra day like that on your trip?
If you did do the free day, what did you see and do or what would you recommend as an absolute “must do” for London?
Thanks guys. ![]()

I want to go on the Beaches and reefs tour, but I want to make sure there are people my age going when I am. I am 29, I don’t want to be with a bunch of 18-25 yr olds. When is the most likely time of year to go with people in the late 20’s to 35?

Hi!
booked for euro adventurer today 12th june!!
so this is a bit of a girl question, or for those that are a bit health conscious ..
Is there any time at all during the tour for exercise/walks/jogs
Also,
what’s the food provided like
i luurvve my food, but have to admit i’m kinda fussy when it comes to unhealthy food – especially for simple meals like breakfast.
do they provide simple cereals…
and do they have skim milk?!
(i know i sound like an idiot here but i hate gross creamy full cream milk!!)
anyway, enough of embarassing myself!
i think i’l take a few suplies with me – vegemite, skim milk powder!

Going on the London to Rome tour in April ’07. Its a 21-day tour. Trying to set up a budget to know how much money to take. How would you base how much money one needs? Im thinking 1500-2000 for spending. Whats the best way to carry it? Cash? Travellers Cheques?

hey,
this goes out to those that live, or have travelled to australia.

did you tip the tour manager, and driver?

Hi!
I am looking to these to tours as I see they join up on certain dates and was wondering if anyone can tell me what its like?
I see in the short description that we don’t meet the tour manager & group until the evening. So would it be better to fly in on that day or the day before?
Is anyone doing these 2 tours in 2007? I am hoping to do it in either June or July.
I would really appreciate it if someone can help me out. It is the first time I am travelling alone and VERY nervous!
Many thanks! ![]()

How much luggage is aloud on the busses? I am doing a get awayso not a whole lot of time spent on the buss. But is it the same as the airlines or is there more restriction. Just need to know if I need to buy a new bag or not. I basically plan on bringing one small/med suitcase and one travel day bag.

Hey guys,
I’m heading on the Winter Adventurer tour soon and want to take my own snowboard. What I’m trying to figure out is if I have to use my snow board bag as my suitcase or if I can take both?
Thanks!

Can anyone tell me the location of Contiki HQ for trips leaving from London. I am flying in from Aus. and want some basic accommodation around HQ so it’s not such an effort to lug suitcases etc from the other side of the city. ![]()
