So I’m wondering how common pork is in Europe…and how easy it is to avoid it.
Though I’m not really religious, I’ve been raised to not eat any pig products, so I’d like to keep it that way and not have to give in and eat it on my trip to Europe later in September. I know I’ve seen vegetarians, but I’m wondering if I should avoid certain included or optional meals or something…or if it’s really easy to sub something else.
Any ideas? Thanks! ![]()

Hi again guys,
I need help planning my route. I land in London on April 10 with a mate and will be visiting the following countries over 50 days before heading back to London for a flight home at the end of May.
Proposed route, roughly in order:
France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, Greece (then back to London)
If I have time to spare I will also pass by: Norway, Finland, and more of Eastern Europe (Hungary, Croatia)
My main question here is, in terms of time & money, is it more effective to travel from London through France (Paris) then down to Spain & Portugal before heading back through Spain towards France and Italy?
OR
Should I catch a plane directly from London to Spain, then go to Portugal before heading back up through Spain towards France (Paris) & Italy?

im doing new york new year and also LA to the Bay and i was wondering if the hotels we stay in provide any of the toiletries like shampoo or conditioner and soap, or would we be better off bringing our own?

Has anyone done this? I’m considering it because of the quad share. Can you still make friends as easily? What were your experiences? Were there many people with single rooms??
HELP!

Hello I just booked the Aussie Explorer trip but without the Optional Whitsunday sailing. The contiki agent told me to do it this way so I won’t be locked into it but I would have the option to do it while I’m on the tour if I decided then I wanted to it. From what I’ve been reading through the forums is that its pretty good. Question to anyone who would know, is it true if you didn’t book the sailing ahead of time that you can still do it? I’m wondering if I should call back and book that now. Can anyone give advice on this?

Hi Everyone,
i was just wondering if any of you have any advice / preferance when it comes to shoes, i was thinking about taking Rabens to wear around on day trips etc, but would they be accepted into clubs/pubs etc on a night out if worn with like jeans and a nice top or something if i didnt want to dress right up?
or would you just recommend sneakers for daily trips and then nicer going out shoes?
i just think rabens would look a little nicer in the million photos i’ll be taking while in europe

Hi All,
I’m a first time traveller and am soon to be going on the Wild Western contiki tour.
I’ve got a quite a few questions which I thought I’d put down and see if you could help with:
1) Prescription meds in the states? Would the safest bet just be to take a photocopy of the prescription or is there something else that I should be looking at doing?
2) I tend to get sick on busses so I’m a bit worried about the amount of bussing involved. I’ve got a prescription from the doctor for some medication but thought I’d ask what other peoples experience with this was
3) How do people find getting laundry done on these tours my plan was to pack very little so that i can buy whilst over in the states but i figure that if i arent able to do laundry regularly i could be in trouble!!
4) Ill be bring the usual ipod, phone, camera, etc which will require charging. Ive read that the busses are are equiped with aussie power points but would people still recommend bring a power converter
5)I’ve gone to my bank (st george) to confirm several times that my visa debit card will work ok. Each time i seem to get a different answer!! I’ve been told now that it will work fine but in the states everything is pin (no sign) and pins must be a minium of 6 digits for me to withdraw money at atm.
6) After the tour ends ill be stayin on for another week or so. Havent got anything planned in terms of what to do, where to go or where to stay. How easy is it to find it all on the go To stay at a youth hostel do i need to become a member or something first???
OK i think thats about it.
Thanks in advance for anyone reading through all of it and then responding!!! :-)

Ok been told that your tour manager usually asks what people want to see and prebook groups, is this the case? or are you better off prebooking yourself or just turn up on the day and line up?

Hi, Please help!! I will be going on the European Magic Contiki Tour on the 14th June 2009.
I need to get a Schengen visa but i need to know from which embassy. I have been getting so many conflicting stories. Some say i need to apply at the French embassy, some say the German embassy and some say the Italian embassy.
Whoever has been on this tour or is booked to go, please help me.
Thanks!!
