Hi Everyone,
i was just wondering if any of you have any advice / preferance when it comes to shoes, i was thinking about taking Rabens to wear around on day trips etc, but would they be accepted into clubs/pubs etc on a night out if worn with like jeans and a nice top or something if i didnt want to dress right up?
or would you just recommend sneakers for daily trips and then nicer going out shoes?
i just think rabens would look a little nicer in the million photos i’ll be taking while in europe

Hi All,
I’m a first time traveller and am soon to be going on the Wild Western contiki tour.
I’ve got a quite a few questions which I thought I’d put down and see if you could help with:
1) Prescription meds in the states? Would the safest bet just be to take a photocopy of the prescription or is there something else that I should be looking at doing?
2) I tend to get sick on busses so I’m a bit worried about the amount of bussing involved. I’ve got a prescription from the doctor for some medication but thought I’d ask what other peoples experience with this was
3) How do people find getting laundry done on these tours my plan was to pack very little so that i can buy whilst over in the states but i figure that if i arent able to do laundry regularly i could be in trouble!!
4) Ill be bring the usual ipod, phone, camera, etc which will require charging. Ive read that the busses are are equiped with aussie power points but would people still recommend bring a power converter
5)I’ve gone to my bank (st george) to confirm several times that my visa debit card will work ok. Each time i seem to get a different answer!! I’ve been told now that it will work fine but in the states everything is pin (no sign) and pins must be a minium of 6 digits for me to withdraw money at atm.
6) After the tour ends ill be stayin on for another week or so. Havent got anything planned in terms of what to do, where to go or where to stay. How easy is it to find it all on the go To stay at a youth hostel do i need to become a member or something first???
OK i think thats about it.
Thanks in advance for anyone reading through all of it and then responding!!! :-)

Ok been told that your tour manager usually asks what people want to see and prebook groups, is this the case? or are you better off prebooking yourself or just turn up on the day and line up?

Hi, Please help!! I will be going on the European Magic Contiki Tour on the 14th June 2009.
I need to get a Schengen visa but i need to know from which embassy. I have been getting so many conflicting stories. Some say i need to apply at the French embassy, some say the German embassy and some say the Italian embassy.
Whoever has been on this tour or is booked to go, please help me.

Hi all
I’ll be travelling to Europe for the first time during the above dates and not sure what the weather is going to be like. If someone knows Europe pretty well or have been on the European Inspiration during these months please get back to me on what type of clothes should I bring and what kind of weather I should expect.
Cheers!!

Hi Everyone,
Ok, firstly i planned to do a European 29day Contrast tour – concept style July next year 2009 as my boss used to sell contiki and highly recommended it. Although since then i’ve been looking at the 45 day Ultimate European Tour which includes option of Egypt or Greek Islands – concept style. It really doing my head in about choosing which one. The way i look at it, im really only likely to travel europe once . . .so i’m not worried about money aspects and want to make the most of my trip as it will be a life long memory. Although im getting very mixed reviews people say even at 29 days you will get sick and tired of packing your stuff and living out of a bad and get really tired and drained. Will 45 days be way to long . . .you get to see much more i.e more of greece, and even a bit of eastern europe. What does everyone recommend is it too long?? And would you take the 8 day Egypt option or the 8 day Greek Island Option ??? Help Help Help ![]()

Hi all,
I’m going on Mediterranean Highlights starting Sept 29 in Madrid. I’d really like to take in a soocer game and it looks like my best chance will be Fiorentino vs Juventus on Oct 7 in Florence. I’d rather not buy tickets in advance – do these games normally sell out?

So I’ve been reading all the posts concerning what to lock up in the room during the day and what to bring with you during the day – but what about at night? If hotels aren’t safe to put valuables (I am bringing an expensive camera with changable lenses) then do you bring them with you when you go out?
Please help!
Thanks!
