Hey All

I am doing the Grand Southern May next year and really excited about going to New Orleans and doing a little partying on Bourbon Street. Just wondering if anyone had some advice on must see or do things on Bourbon Street or in New Orleans in general?

Thanks

As far as i know, there isn’t a Kilogram limit on the luggage you take. But I’m sure the airlines place a 20Kg limit on checked-in luggage. I’ve read somewhere on these forums (I cannot find the post now, sorry to double-up) that you can have up to 32 Kilograms of luggage

How does this work, if at all

In alot of these forums people are talking about booking tours now, or pre buying tickets to events. As much as I want to see and do EVERYTHING, I would rather not do it alone and stay with the group, or friends I have made. When people are pre booking, are you pre booking with a group of people? For Example: If I want to see Moulin rouge and I book the seat now, what if no one else in the groups has or wants tickets, or have them for a different time or date. Then I would have to see it alone

Hey everyone,

My best friend and I are heading to the US in July and I am not sure what the weather is going to be like. I know that it is their summer in July but not too sure how hot it will be if you know what I mean!

We are doing the Wild Western – California, Nevada and Phoenix.

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Hi all,

Aside from all the bad reviews on the Las Vegas accommodation, I figure I may only go to Vegas once, so why not stay in a casino hotel.

Can anyone recommend anywhere good to stay? I’m not looking to spend a fortune, but just somewhere with a good location and facilities.

Cheers

How often do the tours that are not a prefered travel date get cancelled? I want to book the european escapade for sept 09, but the prefered travel date is allready full. is it worth booking a not prefered travel date, or will it just get cancelled?

I am going to New Zealand in a few weeks and want to get the best New Zealand experience possible. Contiki definitely helps with that by offering the optionals. But what else is there to do? Are there certain stores that are a must to go to, certain foods that are a must to try?

Thanks!

Hey, just wondering what everyone’s taking in terms of bags…i was thinking of taking a backpack while on the bus, and then one of those bags that goes over a shoulder and across your body when i’m out and about.

What would you take when you go clubbing/ to bars/ etc? I usually just take a small clutch when i go out in Aus, and was thinking of doing the same on tour, but taking a clutch big enough for my passports and camera, etc…do you reckon that would be ok?

Smiler Thanks

Hi!
I’m going to be in Australia with a friend for a while over xmas and I wantedto get advice on mobile phones from people who’ve already been there….
realistically my friend and I mobiles to communicate with eachoother when we separate but using our UK ones is gonna be too expensive, same goes for sending texts home. So I was planning on buying a pay as you go simcard to put in my mobile when I get to oz. the only thing is, will my mobile be ok to take an aussie simcard?
I’m on ORANGE in the UK and their phones are locked to all other uk networks as it is so am guessing its pretty unlikely it’ll work in oz, but I just wondered if any of you know for sure either way? Also, I have a vodaphone work mobilee so there’s always the option of taking that.
I’ve rambled so much, I’ll summarise what I wanted to know:
1) do uk orange mobiles take australian simcards ok?
2) do uk vodafone mobiles take australian simcards?
3) have any of you done this?

Hi everyone,

Thinking about booking something for the summer and I am wondering how the two types of trips compare.

How were the accommodations in Budget? Worth saving the money? It looks like sometimes they aren’t within the big cities – was that a problem?
