Will the fires affect Contiki travel? My trip is set for Sept.9!

My name is David and I’m considering the Coast and Witsundays (reverse) tour for Sept 2, 2008. I am big on capturing the most memorable photos for a “once in a lifetime” experience. If I were to buy a disposible Kodak camera in Australia, is the film type the same as in the United States?

Does anyone know if the rest of the UK is as expensive as England???
And this must sound extremely stupid (but i have to ask) the rest of the UK uses pounds as currency correct?

hi!
im very new to all this in that i’ve never travelled at all.
a mate and i are considering taking a tour through europe in winter (not sure which one)! most likley dec/jan! and will be a timeout tour so we dont have to worry about bringing sleeping bags etc.
we are both young guys (22) and everyone tells us to go during europes summer – they say its more fun! was wondering what the winter trips are like? are there still loads of young people there for a great time…we really want to have a big trip and party up!
or is winter more about sight seeing and taking it easy!
is anyone going at the end of this year with the same frame of mind
any comments would be appreciated!

hey im doing the european vista in dec 09 i will be 19 turning 20… was is the age restrictions in drinking and getting in clubs ect????

just trying to decide whether everyone on Contiki is into partying?!?! I am 32 and single, but my beverage consumption days are over and I am not into the bar scene. Will I be out of place? Thinking of a trip to Italy in September. Thoughts?

hi, i’ve never been on a plane before and just wondering can u take your sleeping bag on the plane with ur carry on luggage or does it need to be inside ur suitcase? And is it better to take a handbag or back pack or money belt 4 during the day on tour or all 3? any tips would be great! thnx!

Hi my mate and i are doing a tour in July and have some other nights to spend in London. We are thinking of Royal national or Imperial?? We would like to hear from people who have stayed and let us know which they think is better???
Not worried about cost but location number of beautiful girls etc….

Hello Everybody on this forum. Im actually new to this and i just throught i would post my first thread. Im 17 years old living in Melbourne, Australia. At the moment im completing my final year of school and hoping when i finish Year 12 i would like to travel, but the problem is though i just don’t know where to go.
I mean ive seen so many booklets on Contiki especially Europe and America and just not sure when to go and which one to do. I was thinking of maybe going on holiday at the end of this year if not maybe early 2008.
So what would be the start. Where is the best places to go and what tours are good.
Also i joined the forum to make many new friends and meet new people and also hopefully do a tour.

hey all, am going on the Road to athens tour on september 7th. I am trying to plan my days in paris and rome carefully so i can fit it all in just ONE DAY!!!!!!! so i wanted to know what time breakfast usually is? and also does anyone know what time we have to be ready to leave for the nouvelle eve?

Hey Guys,
I’m planning a Europe trip for a month around June next year and want to do the Greek Island Hopping. I have never been to Europe before and was wondering if I should do this as a contiki tour or possibly through busabout? I’m also doing the Euro Experience before I do the Greek Islands so I have roughly a week left. Also If I do the island hopping through busabout, for those who have already done this how many days would you recommend for each islands (Mykonos, Ios, Santorini and Paros) ??

Since it will be winter time…..was wondering if it is worth it to do the Explorer, which goes to Bay of Islands, or just do the Adventure & spend the two extra nights Auckland.

I’m having trouble deciding which tour to choose. I like the contrasts as it goes to Prague, which is supposed to be amazing, although i’m worried that as there isn’t much discussion here about it, that it won’t be a popular tour. So i’d like to hear from people how they decided which tour to go on… money or Destination?

I just saw on the news that there has been some substantial rain in Italy and Venice has flooded? Does anyone know:
-How long does it take for flood water in Venice to subside?
-What happens if it is flooded and your tour is there?

Im looking at doing a London to Rome trip starting june/July 2007.
Does anyone have any advice on book on a non guranteed departure so far in advance? I had an agent say that its rare for a contiki trip in europe to be cancelled in the height of summer. Is that true>?

Hey, im currently planning a contiki trip for next year. I’m wanting to do the Europe camping 46 days. I’m hoping to book mid this year, but was wondering if any of you know when the dates will be published in either the booklet, the website. Or if you can simply go down to a travel agent and book for next year?

Hi All,
I’m doing the Beaches and Reefs tour starting from Sydney on the 23 October, arriving on the 21 and then staying in Cairns for a couple of extra nights, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for places to go to get fed and watered in both places? Also what do oyu suggest drinking, here in blighty I’ve tried the usual Aussie suspects, like XXXX and Fosters also Crown, but is there any other decent beer there to be tried

Im booked on the Road to Athens on 2 June then staying at Mykonos Rst for 4 nights. I have been told that I need to book 1 night accomm in Athens in case the ferry isnt on time. The agent told me the only hotel which Contiki does the drop off and pick up is the Ilissos Hotel in Athens @ $200 AU per night single as they dont offer any other rooms.. Is anyone else on this same tour and does anyone know if there are more than 1 hotel in Athens that Contiki will do the drop off and pick up for the ferry terminal to take me to Mykonos… Thanks.
