Hi, I’m looking at doing either the western highlights or LA to the bay contikis starting 26 Dec, only problem is afterward I’m spending 2 months in Belize on a medical elective so I’m going to have an extra suitcase with hospital and summer clothes.
Was wondering if anyone knew anywhere I could leave it? if you can leave them at the contiki hotel during your tour or is there a facility at LAX anyone knows of? I’d be willing to pay.
Fingers crossed, Jodie ![]()

Hi guys
Me and 2 other friends are going away on the European highlights Aug/Sept and just looking for a bit of advise on the electrical situation in the Contiki villages. Are the plugs etc from us to plug in mobiles, cameras, ipods etc?
Cheers

This is probably a silly question, but if we booked an extra night in our hotel in Rome pre-tour do we get to stay in the same room for the entire time we are booked at the hotel? The extra night is in addition to the free night that North Americans get on Day 2 of their itinerary.
I guess I am confused because the extra night is broken out separately on our hotel voucher even though it is the same hotel where the tour starts.

Hi I was just after some ideas for my mates 21st birthday. We’re doing the European escapade and I was after some suggestions as to what travel guides would be handy. I’ve seen a few but they aren’t really relevant to someone doing contiki and more relevant to someone backpacking.
Or are there any other gift ideas that would be handy for him?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

So I’m wondering how common pork is in Europe…and how easy it is to avoid it.
Though I’m not really religious, I’ve been raised to not eat any pig products, so I’d like to keep it that way and not have to give in and eat it on my trip to Europe later in September. I know I’ve seen vegetarians, but I’m wondering if I should avoid certain included or optional meals or something…or if it’s really easy to sub something else.
Any ideas? Thanks! ![]()

Hi again guys,
I need help planning my route. I land in London on April 10 with a mate and will be visiting the following countries over 50 days before heading back to London for a flight home at the end of May.
Proposed route, roughly in order:
France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, Greece (then back to London)
If I have time to spare I will also pass by: Norway, Finland, and more of Eastern Europe (Hungary, Croatia)
My main question here is, in terms of time & money, is it more effective to travel from London through France (Paris) then down to Spain & Portugal before heading back through Spain towards France and Italy?
OR
Should I catch a plane directly from London to Spain, then go to Portugal before heading back up through Spain towards France (Paris) & Italy?

Has anyone done this? I’m considering it because of the quad share. Can you still make friends as easily? What were your experiences? Were there many people with single rooms??
HELP!

Hello I just booked the Aussie Explorer trip but without the Optional Whitsunday sailing. The contiki agent told me to do it this way so I won’t be locked into it but I would have the option to do it while I’m on the tour if I decided then I wanted to it. From what I’ve been reading through the forums is that its pretty good. Question to anyone who would know, is it true if you didn’t book the sailing ahead of time that you can still do it? I’m wondering if I should call back and book that now. Can anyone give advice on this?

I’m traveling from near Los Angeles, California and was wondering if anyone was going from airports in So. California and what your travel plans are or what kind of airfares you might have found – or any other ideas you might have….or accomodations before or after the tour ends….
