as title says. I have done some calculations and depending on what show we see and how much the bus tour is, its cheaper to not do the tour. But if it is easier to do it through contiki and the show is worthwhile ( what do you see?) i’ll do that instead. ALL imput appreciated. Thanx

When I started looking at trips to take I was thinking the more bang for my buck which meant the longer tours. Odds are that I won’t get to do another trip like this in a long time if ever and so I might as well see what I can see for as long as I can afford. Well now my parents (I’m paying for the trip but their opinion still matters to me) are saying they think 46 days is a really really long time to be doing anything and that I will get sick of it and want to come home 30 days into it. What is some advice on the longer trips, does it start to drag in the middle? Do people get overly exhausted by the end and not enjoy the sights as much? I don’t want to take anything for granted so I would rather not be worn out from traveling and miss out on how special the last sights I am visiting are. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m going to England and Scotland at the end of the month with Contiki and wondering what kind of souvenirs I should get while I’m there. Aside from the obvious tourist items, what did you bring back or wish you brough back from Great Britain?
I’m particularly interested in unique things you can only find there.
Thanks! ![]()

I am looking into doing the Coast to Whitesundays in March with a large group of friends for my 25th birthday. I would love to hear from people who have been on this tour. I am debating between doing this or actually doing the Aussie Explorer. Any opinions/reviews are greatly appriciated!

I’m doing the winter wanderer, but not until March 2011 but i need to start saving.
How much AUD should i take for a month?
I’m very confused with the exchange rate because i worked out 4000 AUD converts to something like 2,700 EUROS…Would this be enough? I know its different currencies but it seems like i’ll be losing a bit?
HELP!!! hahaha

Any tips for travelling there?

Has anyone been on an Europe trip before? I am planning on going in one of the August trips, and was wondering if someone can share their experiences. I am planning on going on the European Highlights. What percentage of the time is spent on the bus? Is there enough time spent in each of the cities to appreciate the architecture (coleseum, tour effil, pantheom etc.)? How much money to bring? Any imformation will be appreciated?

Just wondering if anyone is planning on doing this anytime this year and which month is best to go depending on the usual weather and climate.
I think this might be a new tour which could potentially mean the first hasn’t occurred yet but to anyone who has been to Alaska: when is the best time to go and what are the things you absolutely can’t go to Alaska and not do?

Hi I did a search on this but could only find information from 2005, so thought I would just seek some updated advice. Being an Australian, do I need to apply for a Visa for Mexico (the Tijuana afternoon)?? I am doing the LA to the Bay trip.
Thanks.

My partner & I are doing the 22 Day Camping Tour leaving 4th September.
As apart of the optionals for paris it offers the Nouvelle Eve, it sounds great – but it is not the Moulin Rouge and we really wanted to go to the Moulin Rouge.
Does anyone know the logistics, can you go to the Nouvelle Eve and then to the 11pm Moulin Rouge, Can you do the moulin rouge on you first night in paris, or should we just skip the Nouvelle Eve and go to the Moulin Rouge (is it easy to find & make a booking is it bad on the second night of the tour not doing the optional and going off on our own – we want me in europe again anytime soon and we want to see what we want to see?)
Any advice?

What did you think of the optional excursions that you went on?
I am compiling reviews of Optional Excursions from Contiki Trips at http://optionals.info/ and would be interested in your thoughts. I am hoping that the information is useful for people who are planning a Contiki holiday.
There are already a few reviews from past travellers of Contiki tours so feel free to have a look if you choosing which optional tours to sign up for.

I have recently bought the new Iphone and will be taking it with me on my 5 week trip to Europe. I dont necessarily want to use it to call people but will send sms’ and would like to use applications such as google maps and other travel related apps. If I buy a sim card will I be able to use data, rather than roaming. My service provider, Optus will charge me $0.02 per KB. That $20 per MB. Woah!!
I start my holiday in London for 5 days then the rest in Europe. Would I be best getting a sim card in London. Will that one card do me for the whole time I’m away??

I am thinking about signing up for the Northern Escape tour, however I would like to end my tour in Las Vegas instead of Anaheim. Is this allowed and possible?

Hi Guys,
I’m going on the Winter Wanderer tour in January and then staying around London for week after the tour ends.
Havent booked any accommodation for that week… not sure if i should or wait it out til the tour finishes and just find the first place to crash?
Should i plan ahead and book something in now? Or find something during the tour? Or just wait until it ends and see where life takes me?

My Cal Highlights tour starts on the 24th of this month. When should I expect the Contiki travel packet to come? Thanks.
