Hi there!
I definitely need some advice.My name is Heide and I’m a 23year old female.I am going on european encounter in february07…by myself!!
This is the first time for me abroad.Will I be able to cope?I’m a little bit worried. Everybody keeps telling me that I can’t go alone and that I wont enjoy it without a friend by my side.And to top it of they are also telling me that europe is not a nice country to visit during that time of the year…
Should I just stop dreaming about my overseas trip?

I am leaving Vancouver BC, sometime in March and wondering if anyone is also heading to Europe and looking to do about a month long tour? any advice??

I’m using a travel agent to book me a hotel the night before the tour begins and she happened to let me know the name of the contiki hotel in Bangkok we will be staying at for the first part of Asian Adventure.
Unfortunately the hotel reviews are very terrible. I could not find one good review on the place..
I realize we’ll be spending little time in our hotel but it very dissapointing to see contiki is having us stay at such a crappy place. The official website looks nice but the reviews state otherwise.
I would like to hear from people who have been on the Asian Adventure tour before and know how the hotels were.

me and my partner will be traveling 16 november till 13 dec on the european vista! what will the weather be like… we are from melbourne so the winters here can be chilly but not too cold.. what would people suggest for packing and wearing
any advice for a first timke traveller!! thanks

Hi all:
There are good transportation tips from Heathrow airport to the Royal National hotel, but does anyone have good tips from Gatwick airport without costing a fortune?

G’Day All
I have booked onto this tour and as this is my first Contiki Tour I was hoping for soem insights and also to see who else is going.
I am a 33 yo male from Perth, haven’t done much traveling and never alone so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I am taking the Euro Escapade on May 16th and I have a question about the transfer at the end. I know my tour ends in Amsterdam in the morning and then I can take a transfer back to London. What time would I be back in London, for example would am 8:00 pm flight be enough time? All help is appreciated.

I am feeling really sad today! I’ve been looking forwarnd to my trip EUropean vista 9th June 2008 and my travel agent told me that they had problem with the visa (for non australian passport holder) as it won’t be done until June the 30th. It wasn’t even my fault, I’ve been asking them since begining of the year that I want to get the visa ready but they said not to worry as there’s still “plenty of time ahead” and now they turned around and said this. now i’ll have to organise annual leave for next year, as this year is fully booked. if i pospond i will loose money..maybe all the money on my air ticket. My hard earned money will be gone. Has any1 ever have this problem before? I need some advice!

I was wondering if anyone knows how nice the attire is at the Monte Carlo? My trip says to bring evening wear but i am not sure how nice it should be. I don’t want to be under-dressed or over. If anyone knows let me know! Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi! 
I am debating over which tour in the US to do. It’s between the Western Highlights or the California Highlights.
I want to see Yosemite National Park AND the Grand Canyon.
Any suggestions?
Also, did anyone have a swim at the bottom of the canyon in the Western tour??

I am going on the Turkish Delight starting on August 15-23rd and after todays Istanbul bombings I am a little nervous…is it possible that the tours get cancelled due to these types of attacks?

Im going to be doing the grand southern and then the grand northern straight after next year and was wondering wether its worthwhile 2 book onto the new york explorer for the days in between or just go it alone?

My husband and I have been looking and looking AND looking at what European trips Contiki has to offer. We decided the European Inspiration would be our best bet considering we stay in each city for two nights. (Less time moving our luggage= more quality time at each stop ).
After deciding on the tour we needed to pick a date. We already knew we wanted to be in Munich during Oktoberfest so that narrowed in down. There are four dates that they offer during Oktoberfest.
The first date September 11th (a guaranteed date) gets you to Munich the night before opening day of Oktoberfest and then you are in Munich for the entire first day. We’ve heard that the first day is the MOST packed day of all and that getting into a beer tent is close to impossible without tickets ahead of time.
The second offered tour is September 18th which gets to Munich on a Friday night and you can enjoy Oktoberfest on an extremely packed Saturday.
The third date September 20th gets to you Munich Sunday night and you can enjoy a Monday, considered one of the best days to visit Oktoberfest!!! The crowds are still there but it’s not as bad as opening day or a Saturday. We’ve even read that you are able to get beer tickets the day of and will have time to visit most of the beer tents without fighting through too many crowds!
The last September date is the 25th (the other guaranteed date) and you will get to Munich Friday night and you can enjoy the last packed Saturday of Oktoberfest.
We are picking September 20th and we are hoping (praying) that you will too! It’s not a guaranteed date which means that without 25 people they will cancel the tour. And as an added benefit my husband speaks German so you can hang out with us! Hope to see you on 9-20-08!!!!

Hey Everyone. I’m planning my next Contiki trip, and I’d like to do either the russia trip or the Scandinavia trip. I don’t have time to do both together, just one or the other.
Have any of you done the whole russia + Scandinavia tour? Which half would you recommend if I can only do one?
