I’m going on the 25 day escapade, just wondering if it’s better to take a suitcase or a travel pack?

Im sure the answer to this is already somewhere on this board, but I can’t seem to find it…I know they weigh the luggage i think in london (im going on london/paris/rome) and that is the only time they weigh it? like if i buy things on the trip to make it more than the 44 lbs., that is ok? please someone clear this up, thanks

I don’t know if this is a question or just venting, but I am scared to death about making it from the airport to the Hermes Hotel in Athens alone.
Does anyone have any pointers for a first time traveler?

Hey! thinking of doing Europe. not sure what one though? First time, 22 female and going solo! what would be the best time to go? and what tour? I would rather Summer? what time of year is that over their? thanks!!

Hi I am looking at the Grand Southern Tour but I am wondering if anybody knew about other tour companies that have similar roadtrip type tours so I can see what else is out there?

Hi all. A friend and I are joining this tour end of Sept. From Australia and just trying to work out the best way to organise funds. How much should I bring, in what form. eg. Travellers Cheques, Cash, Credit. Headed to London/ Wales afterwards so totally clueless about how much everything is going to cost. Also scared about being mugged. he he he

When will the europe trips for summer 2009 come out??? My husband and I are wanting to take 3 tours: London, Paris and Amsterdam, then Tuscany tour, then the Spotlight on Greece tour. We want to make sure that the tours wont overlap and we are able to do it like that. Please advise. Thanks!!! We cant wait!!

I’m sure this question has already been posted several times before but I just wanted to double check.
I’m doing a european winter superior/timeout tour in December and my documents state that I should pack a towel. Staying in hotels the whole way I would have throught that towels would have been supplied. Is this the case or do I actually need to pack a towel too?

Okay so quick question, you have to bring a seperate bag for out and about all day right? you don’t have to like carry your luggage around all day with you, does it stay on the bus then?

I’m graduating from University this coming spring, and I’m looking to do a 2-2.5 month European trip over the summer of 2010. A Contiki may, or may not be a part of my trip. I’m trying to figure out whether a Contiki is for me or not. I know this forum might be a little Contiki-Bias, but I’m looking for as much info i can get!
Should I start with a solid 10-13 day Contiki before taking off on my own, or should I just go for it and start the whole thing off with nothing but a backpack, trainpass and a couple hostel bookings?!
I’m planning on using the Contiki as a starting point, getting my feet wet in the whole scene before taking off on my own. Has anyone else done this? Is it worth it? I’m kind of worried about how organized Contikis seem. Are most days planned out from start to finish?
All in all, my Contiki would end up being the first 10 or so days of my 2 month long trip trip, from people who have done this before, did the Contiki give you anything different then people you met, who just went straight to it? I’m still in the beginning stages of my planning, let me know what you think!

I’m looking for somewhere cheap to stay in London that is in a good location. Generator Hostel is too expensive. There’s another, cheaper hostel in Camden, but i’m not sure if this is in an out of the way area…
I would like to be fairly close to whatever area the clubs/ nightlife are in…or at least easy to get to (tube/ bus)…
Any info/ advice would be HUGELY appreciated! Thanks

I am going on the Amsterdam to Barcelona tour, which is a superior trip, and I was just wondering if any past travelers (especially more recent ones) had any idea what hotels Contiki usually uses for the following cities:
Amsterdam
Paris
Lucerne
Chamonix
Nice
Barcelona
I booked a pre-night so I already know that I will be staying at the Ibis Schipol (sp?) in Amsterdam, but I would love to be able to get some more information on what other hotels I might be staying at.
I know that Contiki switched up their hotels and what not, but if I could just get a general idea that would be great!
