OK,
I am the parent and would like to find out which trip would be a good gift for my 23 yr old daughter?
She is just finishing graduate school in accounting and has studied very hard.  I want her to see some of the world and meet some interesting people.
She is not a big party person but does have a drink.  She needs to go in July and I need to be sure it does not get canceled.  Her job starts in Sept. so July would be best.
Please give advice on a good trip to see some interesting things that she will remember.  party is not the priorty but I am mom.

Looking at the Discovery or Magic for July.  Is there anyone else signed up?
She is reluctant to go without knowing someone.

Thanks
LBE

When I’m in London im considering a day trip to Thorpe park – I love theme parks (minus the queues of course)
Has anyone been before? good and/or bad experiences? Will be an expensive day so I’d like to make sure its worthwhile going!

Hi,

I’m doing the Grand Canadian this august and i was wondering about how much luggage pieces i can bring. After the tour i am staying in canada for a while and i am planning to take a regular suitcase (not huge) and a smaller duffelbag on wheels.
Last year I did the Grand Southern and had to buy an extra bag halfway. It was no problem to bring that on the coach, a lot of people bought extra bags along with their suitcases.
Does anyone know if that will be a problem on the Grand Canadian?

Tnx!

Hi all,

I will be doing a lot of week long trips over the next 12 months and wanted to get a travel pack. Can anyone suggest a pack that they have had thats worth the money. The only think I would like is for it to have a backpack attached and a zip around protective case for the straps on the back. (Oh and if possible not spend much more the £70-80

Hey all

Im going on The Big Chill camping tour on june 28th and then to live somewhere in the UK. I’m wondering if I should invest in a good qaulity camera? At the mo I’ve got a fairly basic Sony Cyber Shot W110 which does the job, it’s got 7.2 mega pixels and 4x zoom. Is that all good for a massive trip that i’m planning?? any camera people out there who could help me out??

cheers bryn

Hi thinking of doing the Ultimate European starting around April 08. First time travellor and travelling alone. Wondering if anyone has any tips for me.

Will $10000 (AU) be enough spending money?

I’m going to australia in Mid September for how long im not sure.  I’m in the process of getting a work VISA so I should be there for at least a year. Anyway, i was thinking about taking a small 7 or 8 day tour, something realitively cheap. I was wondering If anybody could recomend any tours??? my budget would be no more than $1100 or $1200 CAD.
any help would be Awesome!!!!!

Hey contiki people, me and a friend are doing the European Explore (Greek Island cruising) next year departing June, and I was just wondering what is weather like? And will it be really cold in switzerland? I have heard that it gets really hot on the greek island and is generally warm in all other places and so am not sure if I should only just pack in summery clothes or will I also need some wintery clothes as well for places like switzerland? Damn the restricted luggage weight rule!!
Any suggestions would be great!

Hey,

I am taking the European Horizons tour Sept 17-28th. The white water rafting is said to be seasonal, will it still be running at this time?? As well, I noticed that the paragliding isn’t mentioned in the optionals, but past contiki travellers have done it, is that offered still as well??
Anyone know what the weather is like in Europe late september?

I was wondering if anyone knew what the best typ of luggage was to take for the adventurer tour. I have a suit case but it seems too big and bulky for europe…..

What’s the legal drinking age across Europe? I’m not a big drinker but don’t want to get caught out being only 19 and not being able to have a drink on holidays. Thanks!

Hi!

I have read in a few posts the concern about AC on these tours. I plan on taking the London to Rome (maybe Athens) in ’09 – a budget tour. Do the facilities have AC? If not, do they have ceiling fans? Any recommendations???

Thanks Smiler

I’m doing the Amsterdam to Barcelona tour and was told that airport transfers aren’t included or even offered. So does anyone know what the best way would be for my sister and I to get from our hotel in Barcelona to the airport? Our flight doesn’t leave until 10:55 AM on the morning of our departure so I was hoping that leaving the hotel by 8:15 AM and getting to the airport by 9 AM would be good enough…but I still have no idea how to get from point A to point B Red Face)

Just a quick Q:

What kind of jumper/sweater/jacket/cardigan do you need for europe adventurer june-july, also for great britain?

Is a cardi enough?
Or are night times colder there?
(will have to suit day time and going out so as to not pack too much!)

Does anyone recommend what power adapters/converters/plugs to bring? Is there a more generic or universal one that can be used in multiple places? Since we’ll be in so many different countries, gotta minimize the travel load! Wink
Thanks!

One of my friends suggested it might be a good idea to take my phone over there, and buy a sim card in London and use that instead of the ekit sim card or getting roaming on my network.

I’d like to be able to send messages home, maybe make a couple of calls, but the idea of paying for incoming calls doesn’t appeal to me much!

Has any one heard of this and is it a good idea?
