Hey guys, I heard that the Grand Southern was now going to Miami and I check out the website to discover that (as part of the Grand Southern) the Eastern Discovery is now listed as going to Miami too. When I booked my tour it was still listed as having an extra day in Orlando. My question is- will my tour- starting Sept 11- follow this new itinerary? or the old one? From what I can tell it looks like I’m going to Miami (and the Everglades!) but I just wanted to check.

I’m interested in doing the new york explorer and wild western. Is there internet access in the places you stay on those tours? i don’t have a laptop, so i’d be relying on free or pay by the hour internet access to get in contact with family back home, and do i need to always have cash on me? or can i just use my credit card everywhere?

we’re going on the euro discovery tour that includes a one night stay in London (day 2 on the contiki itinerary) before hopping on a bus to amsterdam first thing the next day. is there any flexibility to use the voucher a day earlier?
since we want to have more time in amsterdam, my hubs and i were hoping to fly into london a day earlier, using the contiki london hotel stay a night earlier (day 1 instead of 2), and take the overnight train over after the pre-departure meeting with contiki on day 2.
any advice/thoughts is much appreciated!

hi, i’m booked for the european discovery tour that leaves july 8-july 21. if i choose not to do the optionals, are we allowed to go off and do our own thing in the city we’re in? also, i’m a major shopper, so i was just wondering if we get time to go do some real shopping…like going to the gucci or lv stores. thanks!

I booked a tour for August and I purchased the Contiki travel insurance with it. I have a couple questions regarding changing my departure date to the same trip but in March.
First, does my travel insurance transfer over as well? Or do I lose the $144 I paid and have to purchase new insurance? Also, is it relatively easy to change my date so dramatically? What do I do? Just call up contiki and tell them I need to switch dates and get charged the $30? Hopefully someone who has successfully done so can help me out. Thanks so much!

Hi guys, hope someone can help me … am planning on taking the New York Explorer before the Grand Northern tour … but if the NYE finishes 9am and the GN is due to start at 7am that same day … is that going to cause any problems for me? Could I depart the NYE tour the day before and be ready for the GN tour?
This will be my first Contiki experience and I’m not sure how they work … help!?

Do they accept MasterCard credit cards in Australia? I heard that they will also accept ATM…I was told to not take that much cash while traveling…I will be on the Beaches and Reefs tour on Dec 26 to Jan 10 (18 days). What is a good amount of cash to take on the trip?

I’m looking at doing the london to athens tour and we have 3days in paris, so I was looking at going to Disneyland on one of the days we have off.
Could anyone tell me is it worth going to? and how far is it from the contiki site you stay at?

Hi all,
ive just been to the travel agent who tried really hard to sell me on a time out tour (European Vista). I have had in mind a concept tour (European Escapade).
I tried searching through old threads as it did my head in.
I really would like a list of pros and cons for the hotel tours and for the tours that are mainly cabin style. Ive heard so many different opinions, i would rather get advise from you guys than a travel agent.
I have on the lists so far:
Concept & camping
- I know the concept tours are about 45minutes out of the city. Which means i assume going in with the bus, coming back quite early unless you want to fork out a buttload of money for a cab home. But i guess you party on at the contiki village after? CON
- Read comments about feeling more bonded with your tour mates on these tours than on hotel tours.PRO
- Need a sleeping bag and towels CON
- Spend 12 nights in the cabins, the other 12 are in special stop overs, hotels, hostels. A bit of everything. PRO
Time Out
- Hotels, nicer places to stay and located close/in the city PRO
- Dont feel as bonded with tourmates CON
- Dont have to worry about towel/sleeping bag PRO
- Staying in only hotels and special stop overs, not really experienceing the nitty gritty of a Europe tour CON
I think for the Euro Escapade (concept tour) i’d be looking at around 3000 for time of year & food fund – 25 days
Euro Vista would be around 2900 – 21 days (dont have to pay for food fund)?
I would really appreciate some advise for those in the know.
Thanks ![]()

Hi, I’m doing the Euro Highlights in July- is it worth reading up on the places i’ll be visiting, like things to do and see? Or does the tour cover off most of the “must-see’s”?
