Hey, all!
I actually went on the European Discovery last summer and loved it. If you have any questions, do let me know! I had a chance to do mostly all the optionals from whitewater rafting in Austria to going to the Moulin Rouge in Paris.
And if you are booking from the States, I can actually get you a $100 discount off the optional excursions. Just shoot me an e-mail! Happy travels!
Best,
Krystina

Hi, just a quick question, ive heard alot lately about the whole ipods and getting into the USA; customs checking ur ipods and them not letting you into the country or something if they find out you have music “illegally” downloaded music. Is this actually going to happen or they are just discussing this? I am heading into the states in October and dont want to have a problem bringing my ipod with me.
Any advice/help would be great.
Thanks

What’s the guy/girl ratio on the NZ tours?
And what do people usually do for dinner? I mean do groups tend to get together for dinner somewhere, is it usually a cheap meal at the hotel or elsewhere else? I can imagine it could get quite expensive trying to find somewhere to eat at some locations?

Any opinions out there on Grand Adventurer vs Grand Explorer? Auckland is the main difference I see between the two. I am mostly interested in Queenstown (I am an adrenaline/rafting junkie), which is on both tours. So do I go with the cheaper tour, or is there a compelling reason to see Auckland? Thanks for your inputs! Jeri

Well girls and boys
Have you thought of rolling each clothing item! it saves so much space! I’m taking my backpack! only 13 kgs! to fill up! i couldn’t believe it! it had most of my shoes and half of my wardrobe! i had to pack to find out how much i can fit and how much i can weigh! The backpack bag was expensive but its worth it! i’m travelling to madrid first then contiki via london.

I’m gonna be doing the check out London package for 4 nights before my tour. Just wondering if when people have done this have they just explored the capital by themselves or found people from contiki to explore with? Everyone I have talked to is either staying with mates or has arrived with mates.

We are doing a week in London on our own, then flying to Berlin for the start of our Berlin to Budapest tour. Anyone have any suggestions on good budget airlines within Europe, or bad ones to avoid? We know about some of the big ones (RyanAir, EasyJet) but there are tons of others. We also have to get from Budapest to Venice and have only found one airline that does it, WizzAir. Sounds sketchy, but has anyone ever flown them?
Thanks!!

Hallo
Does anybody have any experiance with the public transport in Sicily? I’m living short term in Germany and the tranport here is amazing but I have my doubts about italy and espically Sicily.
I’m getting sent to the island in mid june and I’m trying to decide weather to use public transport or to hire a car. If I hire a car I get 50% discount. However I need to book within the next few days. The car will still cost me about €150 for the week so I’m trying to avoid it if possible (and the fact the cars are on the wrongs side of the road and itlian drivers have reputation
)
danke

I have already done a Contiki so in general, I know what to expect (or not to expect) from the hotels that they use. HOWEVER…on my tour, the hotels we had in Paris, Nice and Barcelona were pretty close to everything, whereas the hotel in Amsterdam was the airport hotel and honestly a bit too far out for my taste.
So I was wondering what hotels they tend to use for Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest on the Berlin to Budapest tour. If anyone has names that’s great (I know they sometimes change, of course), or even just a general “this is how far they are from all the good sightseeing/nightlife” is fine too ![]()

Hi,
Is anyone going to Oktoberfest before or after contiki? and if so, can you suggest anywhere to stay in Munich. I’ve searched almost everywhere, and most places are booked out during this period. My travel agent told me I probably won’t have to start looking for a few more month, why can’t I find anywhere with vacancies

hi just returned from europe had a fabulous time until i got to the airport (heathrow) informed that my bag was over weight i guessed it would be but when they said it was 34 pounds per kilo i was over so you begin to think was that 6 euro shot glass really worth buying, you are also only allowed to take one bag through the security point at heathrow this includes your handbag so ensure you have a bigger carry on but ensure it is not to heavy which i found out the hard way after having to throw out some things before i got on the plane, my advice is to take old clothes throw them away before you come home, glass weighs a tonne if you have to much and just remember its 34 pounds for each kilo so shop wisely ![]()

Hi
I’ll be doing the Spotlight on Greece and the Greek Island Hopping Tours in a few weeks. I was just wondering what are some must-do/must-see activities to do that are not included in the tour (if you have any recommendations). Specific museums/sites/etc? I will have a whole day to myself when I arrive in Athens. My flight arrives in Athens at about 930AM, and the tour group doesn’t meet until that evening. If you have any tips/recommendations on where to go, what to do, where to get some good affordable/cheap food when I’m wandering around Athens(as well as on the Greek Islands that will be visited on the Greek Island Hopping tour since we will be on our own for lunch and dinner some days), and also some fun spots to hit up in the evenings, that would be greatly appreciated. I know the tour manager could always answer these questions as well, but it be good to hear from folks that have gone on these tours or have visited greece.
Also is the water safe to drink? or do you recommend bottled water? Are the airport and metro in Athens difficult to figure out? are the signs at the airport only in Greek? Did you find it difficult to get around? Do many people speak english? I’ve been trying to learn some basic greek. OK that’s enough questions for now.
Thank you in advance to those folks that may answer my questions. Take care.

Hi all, we are going to Venice for a trip, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. To enjoy this trip we are looking for a good site providing hotel price comparison. Do you guys know any good online resource? With the help of which, we can compare hotels according to their prices and rates. Hope you guys will help us.
Thanks!!
