Hi Im thinking about going on the GS Tour next year in june july 08, just a few questions:
1: Im thinking about bringing my brother with me who is 28 and has never been overseas, just wondering what is the average age of people that go, I dont want to bring him if he’ll feel like the “oldie” of the group, though I am sure there will be people of a similar age
2: How many people go on each trip, like how many per tour?
3: I will have about 2 weeks extra time in the US, 1 week before the trip starts and 1 week after, so I was thinking about staying in LA before hand and NYC after, but just wanted to know about distances between places and where would be good to go, as San Francisco is not included in this tour is it worth making the trip there? And how far is it from say disneyland to downtown LA? Which is better Disney world or Disney Land? I have heard a few people talk about shopping, where is good to go? is Fashion Outlet worth going to? And the day trip to mexico?
4: I know this may sound silly but I want the American experience eg going to a sports game like the basketball or baseball, when do the seasons start for these games, and am I totally dreaming of ever getting tickets?
Ok well I think thats enough questions for now, thanks for your time, any reply would be much appreciated, also is there anyone else who is thinking of going on this tour at the same time?

I have been living and teaching in Korea for a year and when my contract is finished I will be flying straight to Europe for the contiki tour. Therefore, I have to bring everything I have with me. Where are some places I can store my bags for cheap and what should I do about my valuables such as my laptop. Any help would be appreciated!!

I am going on the Amsterdam to Barcelona tour this summer. I plan on doing most of the optionals, but the one I’m not sure about is the Monaco dinner. Anyone have any reviews of the dinner, or suggestions as to whether or not I should do it?
As for other must-sees…we are spending an extra day in Amsterdam, and I definitely plan on seeing the Heineken brewery, the Anne Frank museum, and probably the Rijksmuseum (I’m a huge Vermeer fan)…are there any other must-sees here? In Paris I definitely want to see the Louvre and Notre Dame…will I have time for anything else, and if so, what else should I try to see?
I have no idea about Barcelona…besides the things that Contiki takes us to see (the 1992 Olympic stadium, the Gothic area, etc.), what else is there that I should try to make time for?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys,
Ive heard that the Lourve is closed on Tuesdays…my tour departs London on Monday and spends Monday night and all day Tuesday in Paris. Does this mean I wont be able to go to the Lourve or on these tours do they go to the Lourve on Monday afternoon? Has anyone had any experience with this?
Cheers

Hello!!
Im planning on taking several hundred photos on my trip on a digital camera and was wondering the best way to know what things were when i get home.
I don’t want to get home after 6 weeks and not know the name of a building that i took a photo of.
Do people keep a record of what they took photos of eg number 734 = castle named _______ in _____ place? Or do you just go through them when you get home
What did you do on your trip or what are you planning on doing

hi!
was just wondering if someone could clarify if the prices advertised for tours are based on twin share… and if so are solo travellers assigned roomates? what is the procedure.
thanks

Hey,
I’ve been looking at both of these trips, and they seem very similar, both 8 days and very close in price.
It’s making it very difficult to pick one, so if any one has any advice or opinions, they would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks

My delimma with this – is that, well 1) i have to buy a new suitcase for my trip, thats forsure… but do I a) buy a cheapy knowing that its going to be tossed around alot and Id be okay to pay 50 bucks to toss it when I get back or b) get a good 100-200 dollar suitcase that will last through the trip (and hopefully forever!) but may get dinged up? How much have you spent on yours? and what should I do?

Hi Everyone,
Me and my partner are planning on doing the London to Athens tour next September but are a little concerned about the amount of travel time. Home much time do you spend on the coach? The itinery reads like you do a lot of ‘seeing’ is that just from the coach? Do you only get off during ‘free time’?
Any feedback on this tour would be great ![]()
Thanks!

After my tour i’m going to be staying in Vegas for a few days. While i will do a little gambling i don’t want to do a huge amount(otherwise i know i will be paying it off for months)and am looking for other things to do while i am there. I’m thinking of doing a trip over to Hoover Dam one day but other than that i don’t know.
I could spend the whole time in the hotel and pool (i’m staying at Stratusphere) but thats not me i’ll get bored especially as i will most likely be on my own.
Has anyone got any recomendations of what to do? I’m open to most things (tours, shows, day trips or anything else i may not have thought about) and would really appreciate anyones advice. I think the only thing i won’t do it the Sky Jump ride. There is something about jumping off the top of the hotel which doesn’t appeal to me (and the fact it costs $100 for something that lasts a few seconds). If you not sure what this is look here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsRbipctKTk

Hi Comrades,
Philip Aaron here. Just a quick question about the temp in europe during dec. I am a construction worker from Australia, and as such am used to wearing short shorts to work. I really dont want to wear pants because i find them uncomfortable. Do you think it will be enough that I wear a pair of leggins that I still have from when I used to do professional dancing under my shorts?
Any response from comrades will be appreciated.
Phillip Aaron Barona.

I plan on taking the Aussie Explorer tour in Oct-Nov this year. What kind of weather should I expect throughout the tour? Can I expect the temperature to be at least 20C during day time for most locations?

Has anyone stayed in the Broadway Hotel and Hostel in NY?
I’m looking at booking a private room (shared bathroom) for 4 nights in between my tours.
It’s so much cheaper than the Marrakech, but still one contiki recommends.
Is it far to the Marrakech hotel from there, doesn’t look too bad from the map…
Any feedback would be great,
thanks,
Katie

Hey, can any Aussies tell me what the best credit and debit cards are for overseas purchases? I’m currently with Commonwealth (debit) and Virgin (credit), but not sure if there’s a better bank to be with.
I’m too lazy to ring banks and check, so thought i’d check with people who have already been overseas…
Thanks ![]()
