My travel buddy recently mentioned that some of her coworkers were saying that our Europe trip is too short and that we should do more. We’re going on an 11 day London/Paris/Rome trip which I think is just fine. We Canadians don’t have the luxury that some other countries have in booking off an excessive amount of time at work for holidays. But with these people trying to rain on our parade, I wanted to reassure my friend that our trip is just fine. I mean, we get to spend at least a couple days in each city, whereas booking a long Contiki tour involves a lot of really short stints in each place.

I’m not looking to extend my trip by any means. I mean, I’ve already booked the June trip including flights, and I don’t think that changing plans is an option at this point.

So. . .questions. Is it possible to change Contiki plans and stay more days AFTER booking everything?

Secondly, I would appreciate a little reassurance that our trip length is perfectly fine. I’ve heard from some people that you can’t plan your trip like it’s the only time you’ll ever go.

Hi, i’m thinking of taking one of these trips, but I was wondering what the usual age is for people on them. I’m 19 and I want to make sure I won’t be in the minority!

I went on a Contiki europe trip last October and it was a real blast. However, I was very surprised that Contiki did tours in the US. I never though folks from the outside would be interested in coming here when you’ve got the whole of Europe and beyond to explore. Anyway, being a local here and working in downtown San Francisco, I would be very amused to see a big contiki bus drive by (I have yet to see one). If anyone has questions about San Francisco or its surrounding areas, feel free to ask!

I have never been to Europe before and just had a quick question. I am going to be traveling alone and cannot decide whice of the two tours to choose: The European Vista or the European Experience tour. One is budget and one is superior, but they are similar in price. If anybody has any info or suggestions It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Hi guys,

Just in the processes of booking a trip with contiki next year and on the way back were staying in Phuket for 5 nights. 2 Travel agents have suggested fly Thai airways coz it’s cheaper. But i would rather fly singapore airlines coz there awesome. But it is going to cost alot more to flight Sinapore airlines.

My question is; are Thai airways any good?

I’ve heard some mix reviews, just wondering what your thoughts are?

Thanks

Megan

Sooooo, I keep hearing about the crazy stuff in Amsterdam, the cafe’s the red light district, the drag queens all that stuff…so being that I’m a picture obsessed, I know I’m gonna want to snap pics left and right….I don’t wanna piss of the people though……how do they all feel about pics being taken?

Has anyone been to any contiki tours that stop at the Best Western. Me and a friend are going the LA to Bay tour and my friend is really worried about the cock roaches, the mould in the bathroom, the prostitutes that hang around outside and the needles on the side of the bed.

Can anyone relive his fears? or would a stay at the MGM next door be more appropriate?

Hiya folks

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with putting photos on the web, like an online travel journal or photo site, from an internet cafe in europe?

I’ll be taking a usb cable to attach my camera to the computer if it’s possible. I already know that the computer doesn’t need any special drivers or anything, I’ve tried a few and computers only detect the camera as a usb device.

Hi everyone

So… I know this topic has been discussed a million times over but this is a bit more specific.

Last new years I went to New York and i bought a 3/4 length poofy jacket from Myers (i live in Aus)

But I also have a rainproof/windproof jacket made of gortex from Kathmandu (cost an arm and a leg!!)

So my question is people who have been to Europe, i know that thermals n stuff is the stuff to wear, but my question is what jacket would i be better off taking?

the jacket from Myer whilst it is 3/4 length isnt water proof? And coz its poofy I think it takes up alot of room in my bag? So im leaning towards the goretex jacket, but not sure if it will be warm enough?

I dont want to get over there and find out that im freezing my butt off. so any suggestions are appreciated Smiler

Cheers, Katie

Ok shoot me if this is a stupid question but its something ive been thinking about. I will be a solo traveller. A clueless one at that. And im thinking, who on earth takes your photo?? Are ppl too fussed at doing this for you? The last thing i would want to do is pi** people off by bugging them to take my pic every 5 mins (or more often) Do your guides offer? Photos are really important to me, and its even more important that im in them so i have somthing to show my kids/grandkids one day in the distant future.

I’m off on the Aussie Explorer in september and although i know it sounds like a mad question, i was wondering what the situation was with towels? Do We need to take our own for everyday washing or do the hostels/hotels provide such things?

Or do you have some suggestions?
