Hi I’m looking a buying a small video camera to take away next month on my European Inspiration. I know that I want one that can take still pics if I need to and one that uses the mini tapes not DVD or hard disk, I don’t really want anything too fancy – just something simple, easy to use, small and light weight.
A couple of the models I have looked at are:
Sony DCRHC38
Panasonic NVGS60
Canon MD160
JVC DVGR-D750
Is anyone able to offer any advice on these models or any others they know are good?
Thanks so much to anyone who can help!!

If you do both of these tours, is there much if any repetition?
Thanks. ![]()

Hey All,
I will be doing a Wild Western tour in Feb next year. After my Contiki I will be going elsewhere in the states to meet friends, but can’t do that until a specific date as they won’t be around.
For this reason I was going to stay a few extra nights in LA and check out Disneyland etc. Up to here is all good…
The question I have is that it says you are allowed up to 3 consecutive nights, which seems all OK for what I want to do.
Buttt… If the tour starts early in the morning then it would be handy to stay the night before at the Contiki hotel too, that way I don’t have to venture too far in a foreign city to meet up.
Is anyone able to advise if this is possible? The Contiki hotline is closed and it can’t wait till Monday. :P Cheers!

So I know we’ll be spending a lot of time on the bus, so would anyone recommend bringing a neck pillow or anything? Are they cheap to buy in London so I don’t waste precious space in my suitcase?!

Hi everyone I can’t decide on which tour to take..any advice or past experience would be greatly appreciated. I like to party and travel so I’m really torn.

We are travelling to LA in December for LA to the bay. We have a few extra days before the tour and were interested in seeing a sports match. Football, basketball, hockey or baseball. Not really sure!
Can you book tickets online or can you just get them on the day. Does anyone know of websites etc. Thanks

Hi everyone!
Hope you’re all doing well. I’m doing the London and Paris + 2 Days Paris tour from December 26 – January 24, and I was hoping to get some insights.
Have any of you been on this tour? If so, how was it?
Do you think it’s better/more convenient to have a suitcase or a back pack?
I’m Canadian, and wondering if there are any Canadian’s that might be going on this tour as well.
Thanks so much!!

Hi all,
I am deciding this week if I am going to book the London/Paris tour. Has anyone done this tour? If so, any advice? I do have a few questions if anyone can answer:
- What airport do I need to fly into?
- The flight from Paris was $4k, versus flight from London $1100. A friend said I could ride the Chunel (sp?) from Paris back to London and catch my flight. Is this a good idea?
- If transportation to/from the airport is not included, what is the most price efficient way to go?
Thanks guys! Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks

What if you aren’t a skier? does it still pay to go on this tour, or is everybody on it just there for skiing or snowboarding?
I’m only asking because I will be in america in January 2012 and am thinking of doing a contiki (even though I’d rather do one in the summer).. any opinions?

Me and my friend had bought Contiki Transfers from heathrow through our travel agent. Are these tube passes?

Hey guys! I read on here about Europe and how many professional pickpocketers there are and wonder how LA and VEGAS are? I was thinking of taking this travel wallet that has an over the shoulder strap on it..( so basically it hangs on my side) This is where I’d keep my money, passport and bank cards etc…. Would u recommend one of those hidden waste belts for my money and stuff as well. Or am I just too
worried?

I’m planning on staying in Paris somewhere for a week or so during june-aug when i’m in europe this year and i was wondering if anyone could suggest a good area to stay in. I’ll be travelling solo, i’m female and this is the first time i’ve ventured off on my own. I’ve heard of the different sections of Paris but i don’t know which are safe and which aren’t. I’d also be looking at hostel or really cheap hotel accomodation as i’m on a budget. I don’t really mind that the accomodation isn’t 5 star however i would like the basic sercuritys at least. Alot of the hostels i’ve looked at dont even have security lockers. If anyone has any advice on where to stay please reply, i’d appreciate any help i can get =P

hi all, hoping someone can help me with this question
i haven’t booked my flight yet and am wondering how best to co-ordinate it with the end of tour. my tour ends (and starts) in london at “6.30pm” so my questions are:
1. how on time can i expect this to be?
2. using this time as a guide, what’s the earliest i could expect to get myself to heathrow airport and by what means of transport?(are the cabs there really that bad?)
3. does the tour do drop offs at the airport on the way to the of royal national?
4. is it even sensible to expect to leave the country the same night as the tour ends or better to pay for a room to get some kind of rest that night and leave the next day?
thanks to anyone for their advice ![]()
