I don’t want to bother bringing a sleeping bag from home and lugging it around after my trip so how much does one cost when you buy it at the contiki basement? And it was just a sleeping bag we needed not a pillow as well, right?
Thanks!

Just wondering what the age range and average age tends to be on the camping tours? I plan to travel to Europe this time next year August 2011 and will be 22 at the time. I’m 21 currently.Or worse case scenario if saving takes a little longer or I plan to do the UK tour too I would go in April 2012 and would turn 23 during the tour.
Im worried that I’ll be too old for the camping tour and perhaps should choose a concept tour. I’ve heard the camping tours attract people mostly aged 18-20 while 21-24 is the average age on the concept tours? The problem is I really like the itinerary for the 46 day camping tour as it visits more of the destinations im interested in. E.g The 46 day tour is the only tour to visit both Dubrovnik (which I hear is lovely) and Prague as well as having 3 nights in Paris. Which means two full days in Paris and a daytrip to the palace in Versaille which I’ve always wanted to visit. It also visits Spain which not all tours visit.
I do get on well with all ages and have friends who are 18 and friends who are 36. I just don’t want to be the granny on tour.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I’m going on a winter wanderer tour on the 11th of December and i am just a bit worried about the reports i’m hearing about the weather being so bad that snow is blocking heaps of roads etc. What i was wondering was, what do contiki do if we are already on tour and we are stranded in a particular town? do they organise accommodation or do they leave us to do that for ourselves?

Hi,
I’m thinking of doing the European Discovery tour during April or May 2010.
Can anyone advise me regarding the food available at the catered dinners?
I’m vegetarian. Is dinner a set menu for the group/tour or can we order what suits our dietary requirements?
I’m assuming that breakfast is made up of stuff like cereals/muffins etc?

Hi,
I’m doing the Ultimate European on the 17th of April and i was wondering if anyone knows what the weather will be like at this time and into May. I’m also doing the Great Britain and Ireland tour in June.
I’m trying to work out what kind of clothes to take at these times but unsure what the weather will be like.
Any information would be great.
Thanks

Are there any other plus size travellers out there. I am doing the European Escapade in Sept. I’m fully aware that I’m a big girl, but I won’t let that stop me from seeing the world and doing things that I’ve always wanted to do.
It’s just certain things that I’m worried about like: How others will act about having a plus size person around, or the really embarrassing things like I’m scared the bus seats will be extremely small and I’ll be squishing the person I’m sitting next to, or that I wont be able to do some of the excusrions. Or my biggest fear being, not making any new friends, and having to do teh trip alone.
Just cause I am “fat” doesnt mean I am going to miss out on what the world has to offer. I’ve made up my mind that I’m going to do this but I’d love to hear from others on this, and there thoughts.

Hey all,
I’m doing my first Contiki tour in exactly a month and had a few questions:
1) What type of suitcase would be best…? I’m doing an 18 day tour but will be there three days early and two days later on my own. I’d prefer to bring something big but am nervous about having to carry a big suitcase around one the 5 days I’m not on the tour.
2) When does contiki usually send their itinerary. I booked the trip two months ago and haven’t received any mail from them. Should I call them or do they send it closer to the tour date?
3) Does anyone have any hostel recommendations for London. Specifically somewhere with a good location that is clean, safe, and fun?
Thanks for the help!

Not sure if this has come up yet..
But Russell Square Station is being refurbished over the next little while. this means the station will be closed over some weekends.
Not sure of all of the dates at this stage but the first closure is the weekend of the 14/15th June 2008.
This will affect anyone arriving at the Contiki basement or either the Imperial or Royal National Hotels.
Check with Underground staff for the best way to get to Russell Square from where you are travelling from.

I’m thinking about doing my first Contiki tour next year. One of my old work mates has moved to Sydney so I have an excuse to come to Oz.
I’m sure I’d love it but I’m nervous about booking.
1) I’ve never been on a flight longer than 7 hrs e.g. London to NY before on my own. Don’t know if I could handle nearly 24 hrs of flying. What happens if my first flight comes in late and I miss the plane for the 2nd flight?
Way out would be London to Sydney with a stopover in Singapore or HK, but on the way back I’ll need to go from Cairns. Will I have to go back to Sydney first? That would make the way home a really long journey.
2) How long each day do we spend on the coach?
3) I get sea sick quite easily. Should I avoid the sailing and just stay on the resort at Whitsundays? Is the ocean quite calm?
4) Most importantly, what is the tour like?

I just got my paperwork for the European Contrasts tour, I know that the tour technically ends in Amsterdam, but that they provide you with transportation back to London should you want it (which is what I told my travel agent I want).
In my tour documents, however, it doesn’t specify anything about transportation back to London, so I am just wondering if this is something that I should be freaking out about, or they just don’t include it in the documents but the option is always there.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
Just have a few questions that i would like to ask.
I am doing the European Inspiration in October.
I am arriving into London the day before my tour starts at 11am and would like to know if there things i could do to waste time between when I arrive till the pre tour meeting (is it around 6-7pm??)
Also I have 2 full free days to explore and wander around London after my tour has been completed and was wondering if a tube pass or the hop on hop off bus is better to use.
Generally what time does the tour arrive back at the Royal National? If it is really late would I just book a late check in for the night?
Thanks!

Hi Guys,
Was just wanting to enquire as to whether anyone had had any problems flying into Sydney due to Bush-fires, or if anyone had had problems with tours leaving from Sydney due to Bushfires!?
I am leaving on a Contiki Tour on 22nd February, but flying into Sydney on the 18th Feb.
Regards,
Alex.
