Hi All
I am 30 years old and HATE flying which means my choice of holiday destinations is limited. I have always wanted to see some of the world and someone mentioned Contiki to me.
I am thinking of taking a well deserved 3 weeks off work next spring and doing the European Whirl tour and I will be travelling on my own.
Basically I want to see a bit of Europe, without flying and meet lots of new people.
So, is this for me????

Hey I was wondering if you need an ISC card to get student discounts in the U.S. I was able to save some money with it at museums and the like when I did the European Experience tour in Spring 2006. So I was hoping that I would be able to get some discounts when I go on the Wild Western tour this summer. I’m from Canada, so would my university student card be sufficient or would I need to get a new ISC card?

So I am 17 currently. I am about to enter my senior year in highschool and it is time to start planning for my senior trip. Living in Louisiana, there are many people who revolve their lives around alcohol. The vast majority of seniors head to the Bahammas or Florida or Cancun for a week. I do not wish to join in a week of drunkeness. I google searched for a backpacking trip across Europe a few weeks ago. It brought me to this site. I started looking around and quickly took interest in the Canada and the Rockies package. I have researched all of the places visited and I have decided that this may be some of the most beautiful areas in the world. I was reading about the events that occur during the trip and it brought up a few questions.
I was considering going on a tour with roughly 3-4 of my friends who will all be seniors as well. Is it ok that we go in groups on these tours?
We aren’t the kind of folks who want to go to bars and clubs at night really and I have read that there is a lot of free time. Once we are stopped for the night, is there other things to do besides clubbing? Drinking isn’t on our priority list.
Is this an enjoyable trip for 18 year olds?
I have always wanted to see this type of landscape. Where I live, it is flat terrain EVERYWHERE and trees. I researched some of the lakes and national parks that we would visit on the tour. During the months of May-August, is the water in the lakes swimmable in? I am not sure about how the climate is in Canada as it is hot here year round. If anyone would just like to answer some questions for me I would appreciate it greatly.
I really want to see this part of Canada but I am unsure if it will satisfy our desires for a trip.
Thanks,
Justin

Just a quick question re: this optional excursion…
Is there another food option other than the pork knuckle? I do not eat pork but would love to still go on this tour.
Please let me know.

Just wondering if people took a small handbag when they went to Dinner or when you went out at night? Or did you just take your normal day bag?
Also do you have to take your passport with you at night. I mean how strict are they at Pubs/Clubs? Im worried I will lose mine!!
Any other suggestions?

Just wanted to get some impressions on this quote for flights I got to Europe from Melbourne, Australia.
Doing the Berlin to Budapest Contiki on July 24th, 2010.
Flying Emirates to London a few weeks before the Contiki begins. Return to Europe (Arriving in London, Departing from Greece back home) for $1900.
Only downside is I have to pay for the airfares in full by November 20. Should I, or do you all think I might be able to get a better price further down the track?
And I’m not really prepared to fly with the cheap airlines where I have to pay extra for my luggage and food.

I’m spending a few extra nights in Rome after my tour. I’m looking for some idea of where to stay for low-moderately price in the city. Around 85$ CAN. Does anyone have any suggestion or recommendations?

Who has done George’s Boat as an optional for Corfu? Was probably my favourite optional activity on my tour. I haven’t come across anyone who hasn’t enjoyed George’s Boat. A fantastic day ![]()

I’m about to embark on my first Contiki trip in a few weeks (Vietnam Highlights). I get in a day earlier and am staying at a different hotel for that night, but I’m just wondering about checking in to the hotel for the trip? My check out is by midday – does anyone know if I would be able to check in to the hotel at the start of my trip before the group meeting that night? Or do I have to wait until after the meeting so I can meet my room mate and stuff? Hope this makes sense!

This may already be answered somewhere but are there any information papers or shots canadians need to have before going on a European tour? Is there anything someone reccomends have with you in terms of identification other than a passport?

Hey there,
Im doing the 22 day camping trip around Europe in April this year. Was just wondering where we get to shower and change generally, and if I’ll ever be near a powerpoint to use a hair straightener? Girly I know but will I see a mirror in 3 weeks?

Hi, I’m traveling with my boyfriend o/s for the first time next year and we were planning on doing the London to Athens tour July 2009. I will be 27 and he will be 32 and he is worried he will be too old for the tour. Whats the average age of the tours?
