hi,
Im heading OS for 4 months to the US and all over europe and was just after any companies that have done you good on travel insurance. ive been to the US before and understand about the level of travel insurance required. Its just that STA are quoting $900 (inc 20% discount) and medibank private are quoting $500 (10% members discount). i dont need skiing and adventure sports cover just full comprehensive.
Has anyone traveled worldwide for a similar time and has a good company that didnt cost the earth?? (I dont want to skimp of course but dont want to pay an astronomical amount either.)
Thanks,

Has anybody gotten a tattoo while on their trip, I was thinking about getting one to remember the trip by maybe while in Amsterdam or London, can anyone make any suggestions about safe/clean places to go to?
Also are the prices about the same as in Australia?

Hello,
We booked the European Magic tour for June 30 – July 10th. Just curious as to what the London portion of the tour consist of? I am planning on spending a couple extra days in London (before and after the tour) and would like to get a thorough tour of London. I just don’t want to do something twice. Any advice on what to expect in London would be great. Thanks!

Hey, just wondering, I am coming to the contiki tour from travelling around america and so am going to have more than 20kg. Do I have to leave my bags in the basement for my whole contiki trip, or can I store it for a few days and get one of my friends pick it up. She is arriving about two days after I leave London..?
thanks

HI ya!
Maybe you are moving/just moved to Christchurch, or maybe you are just wanting to make some new friends?
I am 29 years old, my boyfriend is 32, (been together 8 years! Both kiwis) just seeing if there are any other females or couples out there that just want a friend to chat with, go for a cuppa, dinner, movies or clubbing.
I work at a real estate company in administration, love meeting new people (have met a few online now!), fave music – 80’s, Robbie Williams, Madonna, U2, Crowded House, (kiwi sounds) Jack Johnson, dance…lots of music actually!!, like travelling, (went on a roadtrip in USA for 4 weeks), lived in Canada for a year, cooking, watching rugby, movies, facebook.
While living in Canada I had only couple of friends, and found it really tough & lonely being in a new city, so I thought I would come on here and see if anyone is in the same boat as I was there and looking for a new friend – I have made some awesome friends off the internet!
Have done two Contikis – one in Canada one in Europe.
Cheers

Hey everyone.
During my trip to Europe I plan to stay in a few hostels while I am there. Question is do you need to bring a sleeping bag/blanket for the bed or do they normally provide them? If so what do people normally take?
Help appreciated.
Steve

I’m staying in Anaheim a couple of days to do Disneyland and then heading to stay in West Hollywood a couple of days if anyone is travelling alone (or with other people) and wants to join me … I’m travelling alone and am okay on my own but figured there might be other poeple doing the same that wouldn’t mind a tag along or might want to tag along with me ![]()
I should probably mention I’m doing the GN that departs New York on 26th June …

I wont be able to go on a Contiki tour but am wondering how long you think is good enough time to explore Christchurch, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland?
So far this is my plan for my 20 day trip
-Oct 4th..fly into to christchurch at 3pm, recover the rest of the day and get food
-Spend a few days maybe
-Fly to dunedin for overnight
-Fly to Queenstown for a few days, maybe 5?
-in that time do a scenic flight over milford sound
-either fly back to christchurch and get train to picton and do a cruise on queen charolote pass
or fly to wellington
-spend a few days in wellington 3 at most
-fly to Taupo for 2 nights
-bus to Rotorua for 2 nights
-fly to Auckland for 4-5 nights
-?maybe bay of islands tour.
What do you lot think, the ones who have been there? Im reading through my Lonely planet and it seems that theres a lot to do…. And its about the same price to fly between the points than sit on a bus for hours…
hm i should realy go and do my study rather than looking up stuff on Nz…

I don’t want to miss out on surfing/diving/etc. because of cold weather (does it get that cold in Australia, in the areas one would do these activities? I have no idea..).
BUT, what I’ve read about potentially fatal, venomous jellyfish frankly freaks me out (my understanding is these are only a problem during the summer months?)

I plan on picking some bottles up along with other souvenirs in each city we visit (So. Ireland) and I was wondering if that would be a problem storage wise on the bus or if I should just buy the liquor at the airport which I don’t want to do, really. Any advice is much appreciated![]()

Hi, I’m travelling to Anaheim and Las Vegas and we don’t tip in NZ where I am from. If for example if I get a transfer from the airport to my hotel which costs $6 – how much should I tip the driver? Or if I eat out and the meal is say $50 what is an appropriate tip? Do you just hand over the tip in cash or do you add it to your bill?
Appreciate any advice – thanks.

My friend and I finally got out itinerary for the European Horizon yesterday. It says that we must bring a towel and that sleeping bags will be provided. And a few of the nights it lists us as “camping.” Are Contiki Villages actually campsites? What are the Contiki special stopovers? We were under the impression that we would be staying at either a hostel, hotel, or some other indoor location each night but I guess not. I know we can’t change this now because our tour is in a few weeks but we at least want to find out what to expect! Thanks.

Hi all,
I’m a pretty active person and I was wondering if there were any parks or other areas that are a good outlet for jogging. First and foresmost, of course, I plan to have fun and sightsee with the group but during down time would love to get to see the places we’re visting by jogging. I’ll be visiting Paris, Amsterdam, Lucerne, Barcelona and Rome. I know from past travel that jogging isn’t as big a thing in Europe as in the States so if anyone has any suggestsions of places (parks or otherwise) where it might be somewhat common (and safe), let me know.

Hey all,
Im just finishing college in New Zealand and am very keen to do a contiki next year, possibly european panorama or similar. But will only be 18. Is there anyone other school leavers or yougins in a similar position thinking they might do one? Im most likely going to be going solo.
Cheers, Mike
