Hi.
I’m booked on this tour for Oct 29th this year. Obviously Contiki use planes to travel between cities on this tour, and they’re included in the price.
Who do we fly with and if they have a check on baggage charge, do we pay for that or is that covered in the Contiki price??
My bf and I did pretty much the same cities on our own last year, and when we flew Vegas – LA with American Airlines, a nice man at check in waived our baggage fees because we could show him our itineary for an international flight back home for Aus. So, if Contiki DON’T pay for our baggage on flights, does anyone know where I can find documentation online from the airlines used as to whether baggage fees are waived for international travellers? I don’t think me saying to the check in staff “but I was allowed to do it last year” will work ![]()

I was looking at doing the Islands & Rainforests tour with the Whitsundays sailing option for the first 3 days of the tour. That was over 6 months ago. I have looked again today since it’s closer to when I would actaully have the time/funds to do so and the website doesn’t list it anymore. All you can do is the regular Whitsunday part where you stay on one island.
Does anyone know why they stopped offering the sailing option?? Or am I totally blind and missed it?? Thanks!

I’m hoping for some advice regarding public holidays during tours. My tour conincides with Easter. So for the period of Good Friday – Easter Monday I’m assuming a lot of places may be closed. We’ll be in Munich & Venice over these 4 days. Will we just have to make do with whatever’s open or available or will there be side-tours maybe? Thanks guys!

Hi,
I’ll be doing the Northern Highlights tour, ending in Auckland in about a week. Can someone please tell me where in Auckland this tour ends? I want to go to Skytower after the tour, and before my flight, and I want to make sure that I have enough time, etc…
thanks

What exactly are we aloud to take on the bus??
I will be taking a handbag for my camera, money etc and was wondering if I can then take a small bag or back pack as well that can be left in the over head compartment on the bus or do you have to take everything with you each time you get of the bus
Any advice

I am going on the European Inspiration tour in a couple of weeks and I don’t know what to do about certain travel accessories.
Can anyone tell me if there are hairdryers in the hotels?
Also, do the hotel provide shampoos and soap
Are shower shoes need for the showers?
And I am assuming that the hotels provide bed linens and towels. Is that correct?
Please help! Thanks!!

Hi everyone,
I would love to go on a Contiki in the USA in the next year or so. Problem is I have just turned 19. I don’t want to go on one and then not be able to party it up every night because I am under 21 and can’t get drinks. Might ahve to wait until I’m 21. Have many other travellers found this problem??
Cheers,
Elise

Hey guys
I have done a Contiki in New Zealand and loved all the physical activities available. Kayaking, zorbing, whitewater rafting etc
Anyone have any idea on which american tours have stuff like this to do. Sight seeing is nice but I still like to be active

Does anyone know of a good hostel in Glasgow? I’m travelling by myself, so would like to stay in a hostel to meet people, rather than in the University or a hotel…any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! My husband and I are thinking of doing the Vienna-Budapest tour. Since we are both new to Contiki, we are wondering a few things…
We’ve heard this company is very popular among singles. Are there couples ever on the tours?
Is it better to book the land/air combo or find the flights yourself?
Thanks!

Just wondering what sort of deals people have got so far for a flight from Sydney to London? We are leaving in late August 2011 and will be heading off to Flight Centre in a couple of days. I was just curious to see what people travelling around that time have paid? I really want to save as much as possible. Thinking of Tokyo as a stopover but not keen on Japan Airlines given they are up the creek at the moment…

Hi All
I am doing the Grand Southern tour next year and plan on getting to LA a few days before the tour starts. My friend and I want to spend one night in Hollywood just for the experience and to do one of the star tours.
I am curious to know the options available to travel between Hollywood to Anaheim. I know they are about an hour apart. I did a search of other posts but cant seem to find any advice.
Any and all tips would be so appreciated!
Cheers

in the 90’s and now I am looking around at the tours for my oldest son (who didn’t exist when I was travelling the globe, btw). Amazingly, many of the tours are the same, which brings back fantastic memories. I took the European Discovery, took a cruise in the Greek Islands, and also Contiki’d through Australia. I can honestly say that those were some of the best times of my life … I still pull out the photos once in awhile and re-live my journeys. I know that my son will create wonderul memories of his own … and have some fun that I don’t need to know about!
