Im going to europe soon with contiki and was wondering if anyone could tell me about going out at night on the trip, do they care what time your back in your hotel at and is it pretty safe??

There was a western highlights trip on contiki that looked perfect for feb 6th-13th. But it’s all booked.
Is there any way at all to get in any other way. Like if someone cancels, or selling their spots.
Does anyone have any advice for alternatives ?

my mate and I arent doing a contiki because none go where we want to go, we fly into Paris from NY and want to go up to amsterdam then to prague, then down to rome then fly to barcelona then back to syd.
We are doing this in 3 weeks, would people suggest going by train, is that the fastst way of getting around. are there different trains, iv heard there are ones that go really fast, is that the Eurail pass?
Any help would be great

Just wondering if the black water rafting involves squeezing through really small spaces. I’m not claustrophobic as a rule but small tight spaces don’t excite me!

Hey All
Well I have already been on a Time Out – the Winter Wander tour and I loved it that much that I am going back for more, and taking my best friend along with me
Though we are a bit up in the air about which tour to do. We both have 5 weeks off work though would like some extra time in London. Money isnt a huge issue for either of us as we have been saving for this for ages. We would really love to do the Contrasts as it is an ideal length and visits all of the places we would like to visit, though I would just like to know what happens at meal times? I am aware that you pay for a food find etc, though would like to know what we have to do for meals. On the winter wander we were basically at restaurants every night for meals which ment we experiences a lot of the local cuisine. What do they make for you on a concept??
Thanks in advance ![]()

I have a few questions. I’m going on the European Whirl in May for the first time.
Do I really need a sleeping bag?
How much money should I plan on bringing for a 20 day trip? Do I bring pounds for my day in London and then Euros for the rest? Do people normally have the chance to do laundry?

Hello!
I’m doing the Check Out London tour a few days before my main Contiki, and I had a question about the included theatre tickets. I was hoping to use the voucher for a play on the evening of my arrival – would it be prudent to call ahead and have them arrange this in advance, or would the Basement be able to accommodate my request on such short notice?

Hello all
Hubby and i are off on the 8 sept 08 concept tour – European Experience.
Just a question. we have heard that we might be split between male/female rooms.
Is this true? And if so how can we avoid this?

When does one pay for the optional excursions?
I will be taking my second Contiki tour at the end of this year. My first tour, Europe, we paid for the excursions in one lump-sum around the beginning of the tour. My next tour, Aussie Explorer, has a LOT more excursions I am interested in taking and will end up costing more than I paid last time.
I think I would still like paying the one lump-sum in the beginning (to get it over with), but I’m curious how past aussie tours have run.

Hi all,
Ive been wanting to do one of these Contiki tours for a couple of years now, just havent really been in the position to do so.
What I want to do is do the normal European thing, step on Italian soile, see the Eifell Tower etc.
Ive done Greece before and dont really need to do that again – besides the islands in SUMMER!
So Im looking for the best tour for value – Thinking about the Euro Whirl and hopefully link that to another a day or two later which enables me to do the Mykonos 8 day cruise.
Has anyone done anything similar and how do I go about linking it to another…Basically what is it that I need to do?
Has anyone else started planning for 2008 as yet? Or am I just being a bit over enthusiastic?
Cant wait to do this and how long do I need to wait for dates to appear for 2008?
Any help will be much appreciated!

OMG. Packing is a nightmare!!!!
I had to put my sleeping bag in my carry-on luggage. I tried to pack light, but it’s pretty hard. I love my tshirts, and I like to have a variety in my outfits. Also, I don’t have lotsa $$$ to spend OS so I’m not gonna do heaps of shopping.
Anyhoo.. I’ve used some travel space bags in my suitcase and wandering if anyone else has used them before? Will they be annoying to have to keep unrolling etc?
thanks ![]()

Hey guys, I’m leaving for European Inspiration on June 20. I’ve read suggestions to purchase tickets ahead of time for museams and some attractions, specifically in Rome and Paris, in order to avoid long lines. Any suggestions about when and where to purchase the tickets? Chances that a museum or attraction will be closed on certain days or closed for renovations?
Thanks!
Rob

HI, I know this has nothing to do with Contiki. But Im looking to do a liveaboard scuba diving trip with Taka Tour after my Contiki Tour. Has anyone heard of them or even used them? They have a great website and their boats look really nice and their dive packages seem awesome too. Any info would be great.
Thanks
Jessica

Hi, i’m thinking of going on the 22 day trip to Scandinavia and Russia and am not sure of an overall budget I should be thinking of? Was there much ontop of the ticket and flights to be spent?
I’m kind of in toss up betwen this and a global interrail pass at the moment so any information you could give me would be great!
Thanks Very Much, Connor

Hey all
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but I’m a bad sleeper especially when it comes to sleeping in busses. I also don’t mind a bit of partying, so going to bed early every night is not an option!
Just wondering if anyone has any advice / comments about sleeping on the bus. Anyone tried sleeping pills, herbal things, good pillows etc. Or can someone reassure me that it’s possible to go a month without sleep!

I know this has been discussed before but I haven’t been able to find anything. Can anyone please let me know how much the basement charge per day for storage.

I’m doing the Scenic Sothern tour with an extension to Wellington. How much money should I take, not including Optional Extras?
