I really like the sounds of both these trips. I am having a hard time deciding which! I’ve always wanted to go to Europe in the winter but Greece is where i’d like to go the most. Also, I can’t decide if i’d prefer the comfort of a Time Out tour or the adventure of a Concept tour. Can anyone help me make up my mind? :S

I’m doing european encounter in a few days and still haven’t decided what type of backpack to bring. Can anyone help? Is there a high chance i’d be pick-pocketed if i brought a normal backpack instead of a side bag

Hello!
I will be traveling with Contiki in August, and recently some friends who have been abroad said that they have not been treated the best bc they are american. Has anyone had these types of problems?
Thanks! ![]()

Hi there, my friend and I are going for the London & Paris plus Amsterdam tour in April 2011. I am planning to get a tattoo in Amsterdam during our stay and I was wondering if I can make the appointment any time during the day or if there are group activities scheduled at certain times during the day? Anybody know of this? Thanks in advance!!!! ![]()

I was hoping to go to Disneyland Paris and I was just wondering from anyone that’s already been, how much are the admission tickets to get in, and are things fairly expensive once in the gate?! Any advice would be great.

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows if there is time to do both the Jungfrau optional in Switzerland and Skydiving? I realise Skydiving isn’t a Contiki optional..but I would love to do both if there was time!
Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow travel mates,
I did some research and found some important information from the U.S. Department of State and thought I’d share it with you.
I’ve attached two links; one is for U.S. Department of State and the other is to register your trip.
The first link keeps you inform as to the current crime rate, safety precautions, entry and exit requirements, where and how to locate a medical facility in Egypt, the avian influenza, etc. The latter allows American Citizens to register their trip with the U.S. embassy.

Hey All,
Does anyone know if it’s worth taking a hairdryer and / or hair straighteners? I’m just thinking of the space and weight they take yp… don’t most hotels have hair dryers in the rooms
Thanks!

I am going on several contiki trips but the last one is in Scandinavia. It says I can only take a luggage much smaller than the one on the other trips. Do they actually measure the luggage. Will my larger luggage be ok?
Also Did anybody bring local cash to scandi or can i just use my bank card?

Hiya i’m looking at the Grand Southan NY – LA tour so that i can stay afew days in LA after but im having trouble choosing the best time to go. i own my own business and work at different jobs so leaving at any time of year will be difficult. i was wondering if theres any difference people have found with going at different times of year with weather, experiences they are able to do and prices of flights and accommodation and the tour itself. i was originally looking at Oct/Nov but i think its 2 soon for planning and saving so im currently looking at Feb-march but it looks like it might be quite cold, if i waited abit longer wud it get alot more expencive? I live in England by the way. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

I booked the tour Canada and the Rockies starting on 23rd June from Vancouver.
My travel agent received by Contiki the confirmation of the tour and told me that everything was ok with that tour, so following this confirmation I booked the flights to reach Vancouver on 22nd of June (the day before the tour). Some days later my travel agent told me that Contiki had unexpectedly cancelled the tour. That is incredible!
The fligths that I have booked are NOT refundable and NOT modifiable so I’ll be on Vancouver on 23 June but the tour does not exist anymore.
I spent a lot of money to buy the flight tickets and now I don’t know what to do.

hey, I am planning to join Simple Italy this Dec. Have couple of questions want to ask who travelled before. 1) how’s the weather in Italy Dec/Jan? (what kind of clothes need to prepare for?)2) it’s only 12 days, should I need to take my suitcase or backpack? 3)does anyone contiki staff will pick us from airport to hotel?… Many thanks..

Before talking about Russia, I did the Berlin and Prague trip recently and had an excellent time. I strongly recommend the trip for anyone interested in Central Europe.
Anyways, for my next trip in summer 2009, I am looking at a trip to Russia and Northern Europe (specifically Russia and the Baltic for 12 days). Has anyone done this trip or a trip involving Russia? What did they like or dislike? Was it safe? I am a flexible person regarding food, lodging, etc. and am willing to take certain, non life threatening risks.
If not this trip, then I would consider Spain or Italy, but I am looking to travel “off the common path” and enjoy a completely different travel experience . . .

Hi,
I need some advice from those who went on tours in Greece. The tours all seem to be fun but I guess I would have to do more than one to see all I want to see.
Thanks!!
