My friend and I are going on the European Experience in June. Do we need a sleeping bag? We were thinking of just taking a thin silk sleeping bag and a sheet. As it will be Summer we thought this would be enough. Any tips if you have been in Summer appreciated.

Hellooo!
My name is Jazzi, from Brisbane, QLD, and hopefully, I’ll be going on
the NY to LA Grand Southern Tour of the US, from October 6, 2006 to
October 29, 2006. I’m nervous, because I haven’t seen any threads on
here for this tour, but hopefully someone else is planning for the same
tour! ![]()
After this tour, I’m going up to Canada to work at Lake Louise for 6
months, because I loooove snow skiing, so I’m very excited about that!
Anyway, that is all for now, hopefully someone will post, hehe!

Hi, I’m doing the European Discovery in Jan 2011, just wondering that on the whole day in Paris, do we have to stay with the group or would I be able to head to Disneyland?
Or would I miss out too much?

Hi there, I am wondering the different options people take to get from Heathrow Airport to their hotel. Is it cheaper to book your own? Take the Heathrow Express? We are staying at the Royal National Hotel before and after our tour and not sure which option to take. We are booked on the European Inspiration 15 Feb to 5 March. Any help will be great ![]()

Hi there,
Does anyone know if we are allowed to use credit card to pay for the optional activities on the tours? Or do we have to bring cash?
Any problem using euro in Switzerland?
Cheers!

hi all,
I’m thinking about getting a backpack (because of Contiki’s size restrictions) for my trip to Australia next month. The trip is 5 weeks (Aussie Explorer + a week). I’m a petite female (5’2) and am a little concerned about the weight on my small frame
Any advice on what to get/where to get it? I live in New York, USA. Thanks guys!!

Hi,
I’m doing BnR in November and I’m flying to Aus from Hong Kong as I’m spending a few days there before my tour. The only flight I could get to Cairns is via Sydney and I have a 5 hour stopover in Sydney before my flight to Cairns.
Although I’ll be back in Sydney at the end of the tour 5 hours is a long time to kill in an airport waiting for just a short-hop flight. Would this length of a stopover be long enough to go and do something or see something in Sydney or is the airport very far away? Would I be better off just waiting in the airport for the 5 hours?
Any feedback would be appreciated!!

I am doing the greek island hopping and was wondering if I need to pack a towel for the beach. That would take up a lot of valuble space. Can I get one at the beach, or take one from the hotel, or should I make room for one in my suitcase?

i’m heading to europe in june and will be doing the european whirl between june 17 and july 4. after that i am hoping to follow as much of the tour de france as possible, not because i’m a mad keen cyclist i’d just like to experience the atmosphere. in particular i’m hoping to catch the start in london (july 7) and some of the mountain stages in the pyrenees (around july 22 to 25). at the moment i’ll be going solo, unless i meet up with people along the way that are keen.
just wondering if anyone has followed the tour before, or has plans to do so at some stage. i’m after any valuable info such as the best ways to get around and the best vantage points.
cheers,
tim

I’m doing the bus tour through London, and want to stop at a few spots (definitly Buckingham Palace and London tower)…I don’t want to overdo it money wise, so where else is a “must do” while in London?

Hi
A friend and I are heading to NZ in September, and our flights dont get in till like 11pm the day before the tour starts, which means that we will miss out on the pre tour departure meeting. Is that gunna cause any problems, and also what do they talk about on these meetings?
