Before talking about Russia, I did the Berlin and Prague trip recently and had an excellent time. I strongly recommend the trip for anyone interested in Central Europe.
Anyways, for my next trip in summer 2009, I am looking at a trip to Russia and Northern Europe (specifically Russia and the Baltic for 12 days). Has anyone done this trip or a trip involving Russia? What did they like or dislike? Was it safe? I am a flexible person regarding food, lodging, etc. and am willing to take certain, non life threatening risks.
If not this trip, then I would consider Spain or Italy, but I am looking to travel “off the common path” and enjoy a completely different travel experience . . .

wondering if there might be any impending cancellations for the mexico or california tours (san diego) because of the swine flu scare in mexico and reported cases in california?!?
should I hold off on booking a May trip?
anyone from Contiki able to answer?

Hi, I am a 23 yr old Asian American young woman travelling to Spain in the upcoming month on the Spanish Spree. While researching Spain, I have come across some articles that have me troubled concerning negative Spanish attitudes towards other races. Can any past travellers tell me about their experiences with this issue?

so i initially thought that I was to be staying at the royal national the night b4 tour starts…and on my itinaray receipt thing is says transfer to royal national on own…which is fine…but then in the tour documents book the voucher is for a one night stay at the Imperial…once again all is fine…but anyone know why it may have switched on me? also are the imperial and royal national close together? and finally the morning of we are supposed to meet at 630or 645 am at the royal national…now that im apparently at the imperial do I find my own way over to the royal national or do we get picked up and brought over there?? anybody? im slightly confused

I am doing a tour in May and have one full day in Paris.
Has anyone used the hop on hop off bus in Paris?
I was thinking of doing this as I am worried I won’t get to see everything and thought maybe this option would be better as it goes to all the major sites.
But then is it better to just check everything out with fellow tour mates rather than on your own.
Any suggestions?

I’m planning on going on the Grand Explorer Tour next year in May. I’m just wondering, is it as great as it sounds? Cause it sounds incredible! And is the airfair to NZ included in the price?

with tipping, say you want to tip $5, but you only have a $20 note, do u get change for your tip? or do you have to fork out the 20.
i’ve always wondered this, so is there anyone who can clear it up for me?

I’m thinking of getting a Travelex card but I’m not sure how practical they are and where to purchase one in Canada. I checked the website and plan on getting the Visa that can be used with the ATM machine. Has anyone ever had a Travelex card, or know if a lot of places take Visa? I’m going to Tuscany and Ireland.

Okay everyone, please put my paranoia to rest. I’m going on the European Highlights tour in about 5 weeks and I’m really worried about getting bed bugs!
How common are they in Europe? I literally had a nightmare last night that they got into my sleeping bag and it was completely infested and I couldn’t get rid of them 
Any suggestions how to avoid them or get rid of them if they do decide they like the taste of my blood???
