I did my first Contiki in December to Europe and had the time of my life! Now I’m looking into my next trip. I’m considering Beaches and Reefs or Cairns Sunshine Trail and highly considering Whitsunday sailing option as well b/c I love boating and being on the water.
So when you book the tour with the option is everyone on your tour going sailing or only some people? How does that work?
Do you need to pack an overnight bag? How much are you allowed to bring on the boat? I assume you’re pretty much living in a swimsuit for a few days. I hear sleeping arrangements are tight but I sleep like a baby on boats so I’m not concerned about that…but are there showers and those kinds of ammenities?
And last…what goes on day/night? Just lounging around and swimming and stuff? Do you dock at all? Any partying?

Hi, names Craig from australia. going to America end of this yr, was originally going to travel alone but just got back together with my gf, was really excited about going alone but would be good for her too, just is it best to see the country alone or with a gf?? whats the best eay to travel?? any experiences or advice plz help, thanks

This may seem like a silly question but I was just curious. I am doing the Grand Northern Tour next year which has a few days in Canada. I was wondering where we can change American currency to Canadian currency? I am assuming I will need to change some over for the days I am in Canada

I am trying to plan a trip for Jan 2011 and was debating between Berlin to Budapest or Egypt and the Nile cruise. Does anyone have any info on either of these tours? Also, I would specifically like to know about the weather. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
Im doing a contiki tour in around June 2008 (when i have enough cash of course) but i don;t know what to do!! I have already decided that i definately want to do a longer trip like grand northern or grand southern but im having a hard time choosing between them. Im also travelling alone by choice because i think it will be a learning experience for me. I’d love to hear your opinions if you have done either of these tours and tell me what you think and if you were travelling solo, how was it? I also think 24 days is just not enough and would love to do either the LA scene or Big Apple Exploer before or after my big tour. Any advice on how to go about this because ive noticed that there is a considerable difference between on e tour ending and the other starting and i dont know how id cope being completely on my own with no contiki tour group.

Just wondering what sort of power outlets the cruise ships have? I have bought European adaptors for Europe, but I think that the cruise ships have American power points. Is this right?

Hi my name is Sarah, my boyfriend and I are looking at taking the Italian espresso in June of 2008, i have heard great things and i have heard horrible things and i am finding it hard to decide whether i should take the tour or we should just travel by ourselves?!?! please anyone with advice, it would be really appreciated thanks

just wondering if anyone has ever gone and done the exact same tour again say 1 year later… if so.. did it live up to/was better than the first time round??

Hi All,
I have trolled through the forum reading over previous topics on this, however I never really found the answer I was after.
I am 21 and am about to book the European Inspirations Nov 1 2010 solo. I am not a big drinker and while I enjoy socialising I am not big in to partying. I am going to Europe to see Europe! I can party at home on the Gold Coast.
Can someone please give me some advice as to whether paying the extra for the single room supplement is worth it. I don’t want to be woken up at 3am with my room mate coming home when I am trying to sleep ready for a full day of sightseeing the next day.

or if anyone has been on this tour previously, let me know what you liked or disliked. If there are any things i should avoid doing. For example optionals..what are the best ones to do. Has anyone tried paragliding?

Hi, I’m going on the London with Paris ext. I’ve been reading a Rick Steve’s travel book and he mentions that most hotel rooms in Europe don’t have tv.
I’m getting my own single room at the Imperial in London and Timotel in Paris. I’m wondering if there will be a tv in my room. Not that I plan to watch tv all through my vacation, but it’s nice when I have jet lag and can’t sleep.
Is it likely that there will be a tv in my room?

I am looking at doing the May 2 2008 Grand Northern and I am interested in the Big Apple Explorer which has an April 29 – May 2 tour, does this “Forth day” – 2 May effect the Grand Northern departure that morning?

Hi guys quick question. This will be my second time to Europe. The first time I went, I wanted to buy a Hugo Boss Leather Jacket on the Champs-Elysse but didnt have enough cash. Heres my question: Are designer brands (Hugo Boss, Gucci, Versace, Prada, etc.) products more expensive in Europe to buy or more expensive here in the U.S.? Like the jacket was around $1000 there (American if I remember correctly). I am asking because of the exchange rate. Is it cheaper to just buy products here (like on Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills) or in France, Italy, etc. Just for reference I am doing the European Vista trip that starts on July 19th. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

I am aware that there are various discounts on tour. For example if you book as a group… you will receive a group discount. And if you book and pay for the tour in full 6 months before your departure date… you will receive a discount.
In the brochure… on pg 18 it states that there is also a discount if you pay 4 months in advance before your departure date.
Is this true??? I am asking this because my travel agent said that it only applied for if you paid 6 months in advance
Please advise me on this.

Hey,
I will be in London for a year, and i’m looking for a trip to occupy me over some of the winter break.
Im not big on snow, and freezing temperatures, so the ski-ing trips are out!
I was just wondering if anyone has been on the Spanish Spree in Winter? The trip sounds awesome, but i’ve only seen opinions from people who have been in summer.
Any advice on this, or any other possible winter trips would be great! Thanks

Lived in Canada for a year, (went on a roadtrip in USA for 4 weeks),
While living in Canada I had only couple of friends, and found it really tough & lonely being in a new city, so I thought I would come on here and see if anyone is in the same boat as I was there and looking for a new friend – I have made some awesome friends off the internet!
(also I have a furnished room for rent in my home, short-term preferred minimum of one weeks stay).

hello I’m doing the tour from juli the 16th 2007 and i was wondering if the weather will be any good during my visit in australia, I’ve been reading some discussions and a lot of people say that you have to take a lot of options ( extra’s ) if you don’t have the luxery to ake them will your trip be as good or not?
last question How much money do you take for expenses?
