Me and my parter are looking at going on the vista tour and was just wondering if anyone else has been on this tour and if it was the right amount of time and how long the bus trips are.
Is it a great experience?

Hey travellers, I received my flight documents the other day…needless to say, I was jumping all over the place!
OK – so my question here is: Are we allowed to bring an alpine/travel bag? (The whole “no external metal frame backpacks throws me off) As long as my frame is INSIDE my bag, it’s alright?
It’s a 60L bag…
If anyone has trip experience with backpack vs. suitcase, let me know. Personally, I don’t like my suitcase clicking along the cobblestone…

Hey all!
I spent lotsss of time on these boards before I left so I thought its time to return the favour! If anyone has any questions I hope I might be able to answer them for you!!
I will be writing up my travel journal and day to day log of money spent when I get a chance (hopefully in next couple of weeks!).
I was on a time out tour – European Encounter which hit Amsterdam, St Goar, Lucerne, Mt Pilatus, Liechestien, Innsbruck, Venice, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Nice, Monaco, Lyon and Paris.

Hi guys,
I’m taking the Contiki from London and then will probably hop off in France so that I can hang around Paris for a couple of weeks before heading back to London.
CAn you please tell me what is the cheapest way to get back to London from Paris? And what the prices might be?
We’re students, so we’re terribly poor, but want to make the most of it!
I heard there’s a train u could catch, plane and ferry… how much and how long does it take?
Thank you!

Thx so much for helping out on these forums, and answering our questions =) You two are great!! You’ve probably seen each question a hundred bazillion times, but you still try to answer— a big THX!
P.S., are you both on Contiki excursions right now? How do you find enough time to be on the boards soo much?

Hi,
I am planning on going on the 12 Day Europe Horizon tour. Has anyone taken their laptop with them to one of these tours? Is wireless readily available?
Thanks

are the buses airconditioned? are they pretty cold?
Cos a girl was saying to bring comfy, yoga-type pants for the long bus days – a very good idea. But long pants? or will they be too hot for june/july? are 3/4 ones better??
or maybe 3/4’s and a spare pair of socks for the bus?
(also are there opening widows? the non-opening ones can make me feel a bit sick! i think im gonna have to take it easy on the alcohol as car/bus trips the day afer drinking make me sick!)

Hey,
Ive booked the southern adventure tour ending in New Orleans. On the website it says the tour ends after breakfast but on my invoice under booking details it mentions that flights should not be booked before 9pm. Ive already booked a flight at 6pm. Do you think it is necessary to go ahead and make it later or is it ok for 6pm?
Sorry… just really not sure what to do now…Any help??

I have some questions about the package we receive…
First, is there updated list of optionals?
For example, white water rafting is listed as an optional for Euro Discovery. However, as I’m going in late September I think it might be to cold to do it. So I’d like know before hand if I will need a bathing suit or if there is something different we can do and how much that would be.
If I didn’t book my flights with Contiki, do I still get one of those tube pass thingys for my arrival in London?
Lastly, do you get a day by day itinerary of where you’ll be and what is planned. For example, I’d like to book a tour of the Vatican before I go. But obviously I don’t want to pick dates and times that will mess with what has already been organized!
Thanks! ![]()

Hi,
My name is Chelsea, from Canada, and Im looking to go on the Simply Italy tour in fall of 2007. Can anyone tell me what the weather was like in the fall in Italy? I hear that it’s fairly decent, and I like the idea of going in the fall because it’s cheaper.
Also, has anyone taken this tour specifically? And if so, what they thought of it?
Thanks all!

Hi everyone,
I know that there are posts already which come under similar categories… but its hard to compare with US dollars…i am Aussie… and I am staying in London for 4 nights before the tour…
I am doing the European Panorama – 28 Days that leaves on 3rd Sept 2007.
At the moment the conversion rate is terrible for us…
.42 GBP per $1.00 AUSSIE and
.62 EURO per $1.00 AUSSIE
I am looking at changing $1500 AUSSIE into GBP for the 4 days… but it only works out to be about 625 GBP… will this be enough with sight seeing and food expenses… and maybe something left for Souveniers??
For my 28 day Panorama, i was looking at exchanging $3500 AUSSIE into EURO’s… and thats not much better with only about 2175 EURO.
I was really hoping to have that money include some souvenier’s as i’ve already spent over $8’500 AUSSIE (flights, accommodation, tour.)
I have been reading about what other people kind of suggest… i dont drink very much at all… but want to do all the optional extras.
I have a slashproof money wallet that hangs around your neck… and i wasn’t sure if carrying 600 GBP and about 300 EURO would be a good idea or not? was trying to save on exchange fees from the bank as we pay up to $5 + 1% transaction costs…
Does anyone have any advice… i’m travelling Solo and its my first big trip away.
Thanks heaps,
Kirsten. ![]()

I’m planning to do European Vista next spring and rather than calling home, I was thinking just to email home. So the question is; were there computers at the hotels and did anyone notice many internet cafes? Was it expensive to buy time on computers? (I’m not the fastest typist!). Thanks!!

Like the subject line says, does anyone have a suggestion about what kind of bag would be suitable for the Camping tours? What do you recommend. A suitcase, backpack, duffle bag etc.
I’ve got a suitcase which is within Contiki’s size limit but i’m thinking it might be too big for tents.
I would really appriciate any ideas. Thanks.

Has anyone been on this? If so, what did you think of it? I’m thinking of doing it this summer…
