I’m travelling on my own on the 24 days Aussie Explorer with Whitsundies Sailing (Sydney to Darwin)leaving Sydney on 13th July 08.Is anyone else doing this tour?
Any ideas on what’s better to travel with, a suitcase, holdall or rucksack? Also, how much money per day do I need to budget? I’ve been advised to use a cashpoint rather than travellers checks, has anyone got any views on which is better?

I am thinking about going on the Aegean Classic in March of 2008. Has anyone been on this trip this time of the year? Is it still fun even though it’s not a necessarily warm time of the year? Do many people travel solo? I would appreciate any insight or advice!!

Heyyyy,
has anyone stayed at Orbit hotel in West hollywood before or after a tour or just in general? I found it on the net but was just wandering what it’s like?
Any other ideas for LA accomodation before the Grand Southern Tour besides the contiki accom?

Hey guys, I’m doing the Ultimate European w/ Egypt Aug 31 08 .. can’t wait..
but i was actually curious as to why in France they only offer Nouvelle Eve rather then Moulin Rouge..Is it because people were talking about the price difference or?

Looking for some advice from past travelers or travelers struggling with same problem.
I really um confused weather to stay on and live in the UK after my Contiki or to go on a longer contiki then come home.
Has anyone else had this problem? What have you experienced?

The last night of my greek island hopping tour will be in Athens. That night Kylie Minogue will be there in concert!!!! However that’s also the farewell dinner. I have no idea what I should do! See Kylie who I looove to death…..or say bye to all the friends I will potentially make????

Hi All,
Could someone please clarify for me- I am considering the Europe Gap Concept tour. I am 22 years old. It doesn’t state anywhere on the description of this tour that I need to be 18 or 19 years old. Is it possible for me to go on this tour, and if so, what is the average age of members in the group? Also, I will be travelling by myself, therefore, what is the standard size of this group. If anyone has any suggestions on which tours are closest to the Gap Concept tour, would you please advise.

I know the brochure says you can only stay an extra three nights but i am looking at spending a week b4 the tour there and was wondering if i can book in to the contiki hotel for the whole time. Wld be a lot easier.

Hi there,
I was curious to know, especially from those who have been on this tour, about a few things:
-About how much driving do you do each day?
-How much “free time” do you have…is it mostly hop off the bus, take pictures, back on the bus, or can you actually go for a little walk/hike at Tongarirro, for example?
-Is there time to do all/most of the listed optional activities, or do you end up having to choose and miss out on some very cool things (i.e., fun yaks vs canyon swing) ?
-Were there many cancellations/overbookings/missed opportunities?
It seems some options are very popular, and I’ve read that some get cancelled due to the weather. My biggest concern about this tour is that you seem to be doing a lot of driving on the bus, with little time to actually explore the surrounding beauty (aside from the optionals), and that missing out on the awesome optional activities would, how do you say, “suck ass.”
I’m booked for this November and about to pay out—-I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance before I shell out the cash…

Have been looking on hostelworld but cannot find a good hostel to stay at for 6 nights.
I want
– easy access to transport (hate nightmares from airport to hostel)
– near to a few bars
– easy to meet other travellers
(this is as well as cleanliness etc)
Any recommendations would be appreciated
