Passengers encouraged to enjoy perks of winter Europe travel

Anaheim, Calif. (August 23, 2011) – Contiki Vacations, the leader in fun travel packages for 18-35 year olds, is pleased to announce the launch of the 2011–2012 Europe Winter brochure, offering 27 tours for travelers eager to get away during the fall and winter months.  The brochure is available at

To celebrate the launch, Contiki is hosting a Facebook-based trivia contest at, beginning on August 23.   Participants answer trivia questions for a chance to win Contiki excursion vouchers applicable towards activities such as wine tasting in a historic cellar in the Rhine Valley, experiencing a cabaret show in Paris, or enjoying an evening canal boat cruise in Amsterdam.

“Our Europe Winter tours are something special,” said Greg Fischbein, President of Contiki Vacations.  “As the season begins to change, it’s an ideal time to go Contiki and experience an unforgettable European vacation, reaping the benefits of more affordable airfare, smaller crowds, and the opportunity to attend seasonal and holiday events not found in the summer months.”

This year, Contiki adds three new short break/festival itineraries to the roster of 27 European winter trips.  Travelers can celebrate the holidays on 4-day jaunts to Paris or Amsterdam for Christmas.  Another popular option is Contiki’s 4-day trip to Edinburgh Hogmanay (Scottish for “last day of the year”), which includes entry to the legendary Hogmanay New Year festivities celebrated by over 80,000 people.
