Anaheim, Calif. (September 2011) - After a year of huge successes in the world of social media, Contiki Vacations (www.contiki.com) is celebrating by offering up a ‘Mystery Tour’ as a big thank-you. Having doubled their Facebook following in little over a year and reaching a milestone of 100,000 fans, the leading travel brand for 18-35 year olds is asking their loyal followers to check out the clues given on their Facebook page to win one of Contiki’s exciting trips.
Applying Contiki’s unique and fun brand personality is what attracted the large number of new followers, but regularly sharing engaging content has been key in keeping them interested. The Facebook page is updated daily with images and videos, uploaded by Contiki staff as well as travelers, including a synchronized swimming video created by a tour that went to the Greek Islands!
To celebrate reaching 100,000 fans, Contiki is rewarding their dedicated fans with a ‘Mystery Tour’ – a free tour being offered as a prize for uncovering clues of a Contiki staff’s whereabouts. Each day for the next three weeks, Contiki tour manager, Joe, will post a video clue on the brand’s Facebook page. Travelers will use their worldly knowledge and cryptic prowess to uncover what Contiki tour Joe is describing and the first to guess correctly wins a spot on that specific tour. Followers will only have one guess, so becoming familiar with Contiki’s current tours is essential to winning the big prize!
Clues will be rolled out until the tour reveal on October 15th, with the winner announced on Contiki’s Facebook page the following week. If this is to be anything like the highly successful ‘Pin Me If You Can’ competition run earlier this year to launch Contiki’s new tours in South America, it’s sure to be a huge hit with the brand’s social media following.
