What to pack & what the weather is like?

Hi Guys, I am from North Queensland, Australia and am booked to go on the Grand Northern (America/Canada) departing on the 3rd of August 12 from NY. I am hoping to get in touch with anyone going on this tour or with anyone who has already been. Just wondering what the weather will be like that time of year and what to pack etc..hope to hear from someone soon... Thanks, Rachel :)
