It's my first tour as well. I've traveled a lot in the US, so the packing part is easy. I'm in a similar situation. The US Contiki offices said I should get my info two weeks before the departure date...and still no info. I haven't really planned too much in advance of the trip, b/c until I get the itinerary I'm not really sure what our "free time" might be, especially since I'm planning to do the Stonehenge/Bath trips.

Great stuff atleast we don't have to walk around with our luggage, i was even thinking that we should just go somewhere to kill time till 2 before we check in our bags im so glad we don't have to do that!! Now we can use that time to go explore :-) The underground day pass is also included in our tour, it doesnt say where you can go, any of you have an idea how it works? Gosh sorry about all the questions lol i think the excitement and nerves isnt helping me much. The London eye i would love to do, a bit afraid of hights though but we only live once so i will just do it!

Yeah, I have a running list of places - my must visits / maybe visits and I tried to group them a bit by area. My natural instinct is to plan, plan, plan but I'm trying hard not to envision what every day might include. Especially since I'm not sure what will be included on the tours. It might be enough that I saw something, rather than went in and looked around.

I try to do as much research as possible so we won't have any wasted time but there is just too much to do, i just don't want to miss the most important things though.

I know - I added some time before the tour to do extra stuff, and I keep wanting to plan, but I'm thinking that I might have a few ideas on hand, and be flexible - like, if the weather is a little meh, that's the day to plan for the British Museum, etc.

Yeah you're right, this would probably be easier! And don't worry, you aren't bugging me at all. I had tons of questions before my tour and I know talking to someone who has been already is really exciting! I know going solo sounds really scary but it's so awesome. It really forces you to get out of your comfort zone, I love it. Aww it sounds like you and your husband are gonna have an amazing time! Hopefully me and my future husband will have that sort of relationship. Gosh I really hope you guys enjoy Moulin Rogue, I would feel awful if you didn't and I made you waste all that money! I just loved it; it's a great way to bond with the group, the food is yummy, there's lots of wine, and the performers are SO talented. And then afterward, everyone goes next door to this bar called O'Sullivan's and it's usually a pretty wild night - it's kind of an infamous Contiki spot. There's so much free alcohol and dancing... ahh I can't wait to go back there haha!

Yes, that should definitely be fine! And the flight situation is the same for a lot of people, it was for me too - I arrived at 7:30 am so I had a lot of time to kill. You can store your luggage in the Contiki Basement for 1 Pound each. The Basement is in the bottom level of the Royal National Hotel which is where all the Contiki people usually stay. It has free wifi and you can buy tons of discounted tickets for things there. One thing I'd HIGHLY recommend doing is the open-top hop on/hop off bus tour in London! I think it's something like 20 Pounds for the whole day and it takes you literally all over London; it also includes a ferry ride down the Thames. It's a really cool way to see all of the main sights and it drops you off at several locations so you can explore and then get back on later. That + the London Eye were the two best things I did there!

The Contiki Basement lets you check your luggage, right? That's my plan, since I arrive about 9ish.

You too sweet! Glad you understand the excitement buzz and the anxiousness at the same time lol i love dancing well lets just say my hubs have 2 left feet lol he is not a fan of dancing so i will enjoy the bar, as for Moulin Rouge, the fact that there is nice food sold it for me, the dancers being good is the cheri on the cake. Another question, we arrive the morning at 08:00 at the airport and check in is only at 2, is there a place at the hotel we can maybe check in our bags while we explore a bit of London? Also my cuz stays in London and she wants to book herself and her boyfriend in at the same hotel with us and go to the same places we go to for our nights out, i told them ill have to double check cause im not to sure what to expect and also wouldnt want people to stare at them at our outings like they intruders, they won't go with us on the Contiki coach etc just meet us where ever we end up the first night in London, i think it should be fine hay?
