I almost decided to go the other way yesterday and buy a converter while out shopping for last minute travel items. Talked to the girl working at the electronics store. She seemed to know her stuff and said if I really love my flat iron, DON'T bring it. It could fry. I wish those things didn't suck so much power! My final decision is to go with the cheap one there, cause God knows going without flat hair isn't an option for me! lol
lol! I was originally planning on bringing my flat iron along and buying a converter before I go, but then decided to just pick up a cheap one when I get to Auckland. (my uncle - who lives in NZ - says these can be found at any Briscoes or The Warehouse....which are both located in a shopping centre right across from The Mercure Hotel) I did the same thing when I went to Scotland a cpl yrs ago - picked up a cheapy then just left it there when done. I figure for $30, it's worth it.
