At the outset, Buenos Aires is a stunning city with magnificent architecture, some of the best steaks in the world and a very European nightlife, only more charming. The hotel in Argentina is deceptive from the outside as it is spacious, clean, modern and a wonderful introduction to the tour. The tour guide and main man, Christian, is a real gem. A wonderful, open and friendly gent who went out of his way to ensure that everybody on the trip had a superb time. Notwithstanding the fact that he is actually from Chile, he is incredibly knowledgeable on all facets of South American life and, for the party animals, can recommend some of the best partying you'll ever experience. A real asset to Contiki and a life-long friend for all who meet him. The second part of the tour takes you to Brazil which is even better than anything you've seen in the movies. Superb weather (we went in May), gorgeous people and a wonderfully festive atmosphere. The resort hotel in the small coastal town of Buzios was a highlight for many but for this traveller Rio de Janeiro had it all. So much so that I went back on my own a month later! In a nutshell, if you're thinking about doing this tour, please go right ahead. You will not regret it.
