  1. I just got back from the European Discovery Tour. We brought cash with us, then took out about the same amount again in cash while we we re over there, plus used our Visa’s. We had no problem using the bank machines or our Visa’s. Things in Europre are ridiculously expensive, especially food.

I also thought that a lot of museums, sights, etc were included in our tour….but they are not. You have to pay for pretty much all of that on your own, so account for that as well.

Tip – skip the optional excursion dinner in Venice – although it’s good, you can likely find something just as good for a lot cheaper else where.

  2. Very cool excursion….going up in the cable car was an adventure, and it was stunning at the top. Cold, but stunning.

  4. We were on the European Discovery Tour and got the walking tour….for us, this did include entrance to the colisseum. This was well worth it – our tour guide was great and seeing the Forum and Colisseum was awesome.

  5. I did a hotel tour for 2 weeks…..don’t count on being able to use the laundry. There was only 1 hotel on the trip with 2 washers and 2 dryers (coin use) and everyone was in line for them. Otherwise, there were maybe 2 hotels with laundry service, but it cost an arm and a leg. Pack enough clothes that you won’t need to do laundry to be on the safe side!

  6. I recently went on the European Discovery Trip. Just a few tips I have….

    Bring a travel alarm clock!!

Think of how much spending money you think you need, and double it. To eat lunch in some places cost 20 Euro for 2 people. Also, I was thinking that admission into a lot of places (The Louvre for example) was included. Most admissions into places are NOT included.

  7. My husband and I are doing the European Discovery Tour leaving London Aug. 3 (I tihnk). We can’t wait!!
