More Short Version: I am 23 year old chill Canadian guy about to go on an epic party/adventure for my first time in Europe! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Long Version: Hello! I am a 23 year old Canadian who grew up in a rural area outside of Toronto, Canada. I just graduated Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa in December. Before I start my career designing buildings in Toronto the company hiring me has graciously allowed me to take 8 months off to travel and take time for myself before starting my career. After new year I went on a week long road trip to South Carolina with a former roommate and a friend of mine. Towards the end of January I flew out to Glasgow where my Father and Step-mother live along with some siblings. Since being in Glasgow I've spent time getting to know my Scottish family better and do some travelling. I've have traveled in Scotland as well as a week long backpacking trip in England which included London, Liverpool and Newcastle. Prior to the European Contrasts trip I plan on going to visit a friend in Belgium and some friends in Barcelona. I also may go and visit some friends in Ireland. Other than travelling being an interest of mine I also enjoy being active and the outdoors. I'm a big fan of running in particular. In Canada I am also an Army Reservist (part-time army) and am in an Artillery regiment. Music is also a great passion of mine. My main instrument is Guitar as well I play the saxophone. I love improvised soloing and for that reason I'm a big fan of playing jazz, blues and rock music. Although when I party I prefer to listen to any form of Electronic Dance Music! After travelling I will return to Canada where I plan on improving my French by doing a 5 weeks of immersion course in Quebec. The rest of the summer I plan on doing some Military training before finding a place and settling down in Toronto where I will start my career at an Engineering Consulting Firm. This is my first time travelling into Europe and I am very excited to experience the various cultures as well as make friends and party with some amazing travelers!
