I'm booked on BA283 which leaves at midday and I'm booked into the Contiki hotel in LA for the 2 nights before. I looked at other cheaper hotels but figured that i'd rather stay in the place that the tour leaves, especially as it starts at 7am and i'm not a great morning person! I've booked with BA out of Heathrow. I went on a Contiki tour out of LA a few years back and it took me a while to adjust to the time difference which is why i'm going out on the 4th. Normally about half the tour will be at the pre-tour meeting, but you won't see the others til the next day so I wouldn't worry too much about it if you don't make it. I've been on 5 Contiki's so if you have any questions just ask.

If you haven't booked your flights yet, are you aware that there is usually a get-together the night before the tour starts for the tour leader to check passports etc. Then people might go out for drinks or dinner so it's a good way to mix.

Hi Alexis, i'm absolutely amazed. Normally there are only a handful of Brits on tour and never anyone who lives down south. When are you flying out? Also did you see there is a facebook page for the tour?
