More About Me
I work for Contiki as part of their Web Team and also moonlight running tours in Europe where I’ve worked for the past 5 years as a Tour Manager.
The ‘Conikipedia’ is kinda my baby and I now spend most of my days glued to a keyboard, watching movies and snacking on fish tacos (one of Southern California’s finest delicacies).
I’m originally from Brisbane, Australia and love Oz as well as places like Las Vegas, and New York but would kill to live in Austria or the Greek Islands. I’m also dying to get to Washington DC and already have a place booked on my mates floor for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Take some nice shirts for dinners out and just to make you feel more the part for nights out, but jeans and t-shirts will suffice for bars and clubs – no club is going to deny you entry for wearing jeans.

You’re right! We’ve changed it up to ‘Great Britain and Northern Ireland’ – unfortunately we don’t send tours to Nth Ireland but you’d hope at least a few people get up there and have a look around.

Yeah, I have no idea why they print this…jeans are fine….t-shirts pretty much everywhere… Again it depends on the city, but you can even get into the Grand Casino in Monte Carlo with jeans and a nice shirt.

Ya, take a suitcase and a school-sized backpack…something about up to about 5kg (12 lb) is good (as opposed to a huge traveling-style/luggage size backpack)....Your luggage will either be in your room at your accommodation or in the luggage hold of th coach while you’re out exploring.

As long as the metal frame is not external, it’s all good…..the concern is that an external metal frame in a backpack can damage (ie pierce, rip, dig into) other’s luggage. Internal metal frames are cool.

Surprisingly, for a city of it’s size, London is a very safe city….it’s very safe to walk form the tube station to the hotels, it’s also very safe to walk around most parts of the city at any time of day or night, even at 3 in the morning there are other people out and about so you’re never really alone.

If you don’t already have travelers cheques, I wouldn’t bother getting any and would stick to bank and ATM cards to carry and access cash. If you have travelers cheques already they will be a certain currency (for example US$, £ € etc) you can often spend them as cash. You can sometimes use them as you owuld cash in stores and the like by signing them. If the currency accepted by the store is not the same as the currency that the cheques are in (ie if you try and spend US$ cheques in Europe) then there will be an exchange fee/rate added to the cost of whatever it is you are buying. You can also exchange travelers cheques for cash at cash exchange places but again, there are often fees involved with this. I’d take about 100 pounds and 100 euros in cash with me and access the rest of my money using ATM cards….hope that helped…

About 73cm x 50cm x 25cm (29” x 20” x 10”)...a pretty standard sized suitcase.
