I am flying with qantas. im on a 9.05 flight. we would have to b at the airport about the same time :) I have pre-booked my ski stuff through Browns Ski hire in queenstow. http://www.brownsnz.com/rentals/ they have charged me $305 including a helmet for 5days. They have mulitiple day discount and will apply that when i get there as well as take off wed hire charge. They arent the cheapest but they seem convienient. they will drop the stuff off to our accommodation, come pick it up wed and drop it bak thurs. they also let me change between skis and board as i please so i can give both a try. never skiied b4 i wanna try both.

    Our flight is like 7am :( we have to change in melbourne argh- that's what i get for last minute planning we only booked the trip end of last week! Ohhh that sounds decent. Yes i want to try both too but i just assumed there would be time to hire all that when i arrived! I don't have time to look into it until maybe the night before i go so i will just wait it out :)
