Everything You Need To Know About Contiki Croatia Sailing

Y’all ready to sail around the stunning Croatia islands like your own version of Pirates of the Caribbean (or should we say Adriatic)? We’ve got you covered at Contiki because our Croatia Sailing trips are EPIC. But how do you choose the right Croatia trip? What’s the deal with the boats? WHERE ARE YOU GOING? Here’s everything you need to know so you can choose the best trip for you.

Where we go in Croatia

We have two Croatia Sailing itineraries. The Croatia Island Hopper (which runs North or South) and the Croatia Island Escape. Both trips are 8 days, but they go to different places, and one does a loop.

The Croatia Island Hopper trips sail in one direction to Split, Makarska, Bol, Wild Bay, Hvar, Korčula and Dubrovnik (or reverse).

The Croatia Island Escape trips cruise in a loop from Split to Split, stopping at Makarska, Korčula, Dubrovnik, Trstenik and Hvar.

One isn’t better than the other, it just depends on how many islands you want to hit and whether you want to do extra exploring in Dubrovnik or Split.

We’re on a boat

On our Croatia Sailing trips you’ll be sleeping, eating, partying, sunbaking and swimming off a boat (hence the term sailing). Our boats are all ‘A Class’ boats with big deck areas for the afore mentioned sunbaking and chilling.

In the A Class category we usually use the following boats: Panorama, Skarda, Labrador and Lopar. They’re not air conditioned, but the twin-share rooms have an ensuite bathroom.

On the Croatia Island Escape Plus, the boats are a bit more luxe and have air conditioning. We use ships in the A+ Class category, including the Dionis and Eos.

Throughout the season occasionally we do add other boats to our departures but primarily these are the ships we use.

Get a room

Like most of our trips, you’ll be paired up with a same-sex roommate if travelling solo, as the rooms are twin share ensuite cabins and meeting people is half the fun of travelling. Yep, each room has its own toilet, shower and bed for each person (don’t worry, no doubles). On all of our trips you can choose from ‘above deck’ or ‘below deck’ cabins. Above deck costs a little more and has a door that opens to the outside, while below deck is quieter and has a roof porthole and door that opens to the inside, so it’s up to you which suits. You can also bunk solo for an extra cost. Below is a list of what’s included in each so you can pick the right one for you.
