Finding Luck on Your Travels

Whether you’re on the look out for a four-leaf clover, a lucky rabbit’s foot, or some other charm that will give you good luck, chances are you’ve come across legends about what you can do on your travels to garner some good luck. Here are a few places where you can try your hand at changing your fate!

Blarney Castle (Cork, Ireland)

Earlier this week, we honored the beautiful landscape of Cork, Ireland, home to Blarney Castle.  Kissing the Blarney Stone is said to give you the gift of eloquence.  What better luck than to be able to talk your away out of anything, right?

The Trevi Fountain (Rome, Italy)

Close your eyes and throw a coin over your shoulder – whether you’re wishing for good fortune, better health, or just a guarantee that you’ll return to Italy, this is one beautiful place to visit!

The Giant Seated Buddha (Hong Kong)

Located on Lantau Island is the largest seated Buddha statue in the world.  People flock to this statue, located outside of Hong Kong, to pay their respects and burn incense for good fortune and take in the scenic views.

Casa di Giulietta (Verona, Italy)

Visit the balcony that was said to inspire William Shakespeare when writing Romeo and Juliet.  There is a statue of Juliet in the courtyard, said to provide good luck if you place your hand in a particular spot.

Fushimi Inari Taisha (Kyoto, Japan)

If you’re an entrepreneur, make sure you visit one of the most important Shinto shrines located in Kyoto, Japan – the Fushimi Inari Taisha – known for it’s hundreds of torii gates that line the trails that lead to Mount Inari.  Visitors flock to this shrine, one of the most famous in the world, to get blessed with in success in business and good luck.
