Coconut Grove is the oldest neighbourhood in Miami but certainly not stuck in the past. It’s trendy, diverse and super chill.
How do I get there?
From Downtown Miami or the airport just jump on the Metrorail (green or orange line) and hop off at the Coconut Grove stop.
What’s the vibe?
Relaxed oasis, a lá classic Miami, but with a solid yesteryear mood. Think the best of the 60s, 70s and 80s amongst the palm trees.
Who hangs out here?
Free spirits who love a good dose of culture (and yoga). It’s the perfect hang out for anyone who feels like they missed out on the good things in the last few decades AND who want some sunshine.
What are the locals eating?
Lokal‘s burgers and beer. Literally local as their food and beverages are made with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.
Where can I grab a coffee?
Panther Coffee is not only hip, it also has some excellent cold brews with additions such as Nutella.
What does my cocktail look like?
A frosty coconut mojito. Grab one at Lulu in the Grove.
How do I spend an afternoon?
Practicing yoga at Om Movement, an ex nightclub and laser tag venue. Equipment can be rented there and there’s an excellent vegetarian restaurant connected to the centre.
Guess what day tomorrow is! It's the first Fri-YAY of the month & that means our FREE Community class is in full effect. ⠀ Be here tomorrow at 7:00pm as our lovely teacher Hindy (@liveuryoga ) will be guiding us in this month's community class. ⠀ Here at OM Movement we believe in building community and so we've made a commitment to the community to offer a FREE class every FIRST Friday of the month. ⠀ Bring friends and family- we have space for them all! ????
What’s my ultimate must do?
Visit Vicky’s House milkshake bar for nostalgic 80s decor and authentic treats, then hit up the Cinépolis theater for a movie experience worth tweeting about.
Should I plan an evening here?
If you like a college vibe, nighttime in Coconut Grove has you covered. The Tavern is a student hot spot and has classic bar games like darts and beer pong. If you want to go a bit fancier, head to Happy Wine for a small but sweet wine lovers nook.
