2 HOW DO I PAY FOR THINGS WHILE ON MY TRIP? CAN I USE MY CREDIT CARD?
- Traveler’s checks belong in the realm of 8 track tapes and MC Hammer’s parachute pants. Bring a credit card, a debit card, some US dollars, and some local currency (for each place you visit). Also, make sure you contact your bank (and credit card companies) to let them know you’re going to be using your cards abroad (and ask if they charge any fees for doing so). If you need local currency check to see what fees your bank may charge for pulling cash from an ATM. It is often cheaper to withdraw cash from an ATM than to exchange money at the airport!
