My recent trip to Stockholm only lasted three days which I originally thought was too quick. However, you can actually see and do so much in this wonderful city in such a short amount of time.
Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to, with some of the friendliest residents. There is so much to see and do here, that I wanted to share with you all how to spend the perfect 48 hours here:
Gamla Stan
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s Old Town, primarily consisting of the island Stadsholmen. The town dates back to the 13th century, and is one of the cutest little areas in the city. Surrounded by colorful iconic buildings, medieval alleyways and old cobblestone streets, it’s a great place to get some beautiful photos.
There are a tonne of cafes, restaurants and shops around too, as well as beautiful little alleyways that look like they came straight out of a fairy tale.
The Vasa Museum
The Vasa Museum is a definite must when visiting Stockholm. The museum displays the almost fully intact Vasa warship from the 17th century that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. It’s utterly fascinating to see the ship almost completely the same, even after it had sunk. The Vasa Museum is the most visited museum in Scandinavia and once you see it, you’ll understand why…

The Church of Saint Clare
One of my all-time favourite things to do is to visit churches and cathedrals. The architecture in some of the buildings in Sweden is absolutely breathtaking. The Church of Saint Clare is one such stunning building. It is located in the Klara area in lower Norrmalm.
The Royal Palace
The majestic Royal Palace of Sweden is located in the Northern part of Gamla Stan, in Stockholm. It’s the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch. You can see the guards outside, and it’s a great place for a photo op!

Swedish Meatballs
You can find Swedish meatballs pretty much everywhere around the city, but I found some super delicious ones in a cute little market hall called Ostermalm Saluhall. They have a bunch of stalls selling everything from produce, seafood, chocolates and pastries to other gourmet goods. Take a stroll down each hall and make sure to get samples!
