My name is Bec from Brisbane, Australia, and in 2016 I submitted my first article to the Contiki Six-Two site; mere months later I found myself travelling to the USA on a Western Highlights trip with Contiki, as their first ever official Travel Project ambassador!! In 2016, at 23 years old, I packed up my belongings, took a 'hiatus' from my corporate job and left on a *literally* life-changing solo-trip to the other side of the world where, I discovered my passion for writing, travelling and photography. What was meant to be a 12-month trip turned into more than 2 years and SO much more than I could've imagined. Today, I am living back in Australia with my now-husband, who I met and fell in love with while travelling on that life-changing trip. I continue to explore, learn, write and dream about my next destination. Travel, for me, is humbling, soul-cleansing, healing, life-changing, eye-opening and educational in ways the 'system' could never achieve. Travel changed my life, my perspective on countless things and, opened my eyes to appreciate the differences in cultures and humans around the world. My passion is sharing this experience with people through my stories and photo's.
