I've never had a nuclear family; much the opposite, I've grown up living in different cities, different houses, hotel rooms - being passed around from community to community. However, this chaos, and constant change allowed me to find community in all spaces and aspects in my life. As I've grown older, I've constantly sought out to create and find this diverse community, wanting to have my feet in multiple doors. I've had friends, strangers, distant family, new family, take me in and love me as their own. I travel because, while it challenges me in different ways, I've always found comfort in growth and finding a deep, genuine, new connection. At its core, this is why I love travel. I love meeting new people but more importantly, I expand my community to feel that I always have someone around the world no matter what door closes in my own life. More about me: I grew up in the midwest but lived in London, NYC, DC and Ann Arbor, Mi. I have three younger siblings and a large family of divorces. I've traveled to numerous cities, countries, and continents and am looking forward to my first solo trip for a few months summer/fall 2020.
