If Caye Caulker wasn’t already at the top of your travel hit list it sure will be once you’ve checked out these travel-porn grams. Think fresh seafood, a crystal clear barrier reef, reggae beats, snorkelling adventures and swinging it back on a hammock as you sink into the care free feels of island life at its finest.
Caye Caulker is a small Caribbean island located 21 miles northeast of Belize City.
It’s divided by a narrow channel called the Split, where there’s a bar and a sandy beach.
To the south is Caye Caulker Village, the island’s only settlement.
The island is about 4 miles long, but the town is only about a mile long.
The island is a car free zone with the only traffic sign instructing golf carts and bicycles to ‘go slow’.
Local residents traditionally made their living from fishing the lobsters and red snapper that inhabit the islands waters.
Today the economy has become increasingly tourism-based.

Attracting budget travellers, you won’t be spending the dollars to enjoy a slice of island life.
Expect to jam along to classic reggae beat with the islands small community of Rastafarians.
The nearby Belize Barrier Reef is 1 mile from the island and proves an ideal spot for snorkelling and diving adventures.
Whilst the Northern part of the island is mostly populated with mangroves, home to an incredible variety of birds and protected by a forest reserve.
Other island activities include swinging on hammocks and chillaxing to the max.
