What is Contiki Air?
Contiki Air is an air service provided to Contiki Travelers when booking in conjunction with a land product. To ensure we offer the best rate available, Contiki reserves the right to choose the air carrier and routing from each selected gateway for passengers booking Contiki Air. Contiki Air will attempt to provide the most direct route from the selected departure city to the starting city of your Contiki Trip. We cannot guarantee non-stop or direct flights. Flight details will be shared with the traveler 45 days prior to departure through the Manage my Booking service on Contiki.com. A $350 deposit will be required 3 days after booking. Cancellation and change penalties may apply for any adaptions after booking.
What will my flights be like?
We always do our best to provide the most direct route to your destination. In order to pass on the best overall value to our travelers, we cannot guarantee non-stop or direct flights and certain routings may not be available. Flights are booked with major airlines in economy class and include one piece of checked baggage per guest. Additional services such as meals and seat requests are usually included as well. Most arrival and departure times at your destination range from 7:00am to 5:00pm local time. Transfers to and from the airport at your destination are not included, but may be purchased separately.
What if I need to make changes to my flight information after it has been assigned?
Flight change can be made with no penalty for 24 hours after booking. After 24 hours, changes to your flight information may result in loss of deposit plus any additional costs incurred from the airline due to increases in airfare at the time of booking will be made at the passenger’s expense. Changes can include but not limited to: name correction, change in gateway, routing preferences or departure time requests. Travelers are solely responsible for providing accurate passenger booking details at time of booking. All airline tickets issued by Contiki Air are refundable only to Contiki Air.
Do I have to travel on all segments of my flight itinerary?
Yes, you must travel on all legs of your itinerary. If you do not travel on a portion of your flight itinerary, the remaining portions will be cancelled by the airline. If this happens, you will be responsible for purchasing a new ticket and any service fees charged by the airlines. If you miss a leg of your flight resulting in a delayed arrival, you will not be reimbursed for the missed portions of the trip.
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled by the airline?
If you have not purchased Contiki Air Travel Protection Contiki is not responsible for airline schedule changes, personnel strikes impacting service, flight cancellations, or airline delays due to weather, mechanical requirements, capacity, or any other reason. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, it is your responsibility to work directly with the airline to get re-protected on a new itinerary as needed. Once your new flight is confirmed, you must then notify Contiki Air with your updated arrival time. CONTIKI AIR is not responsible for costs associated with a flight delay or cancellation, such as (but not limited to) hotels, meals, or additional airline charges. In the event an airline delay or cancellation causes you to miss time on tour, you will not be reimbursed for missed portions of the trip, including but not limited to accommodations, meals, excursions or sightseeing tours.
When will I receive my flight itinerary?
Your flight itinerary and e-ticket number will be posted in your Manage My Booking account 45 days prior to the scheduled departure for your tour. CONTIKI AIR will provide your itinerary only after your account has been paid in full, and after you have agreed to these Booking Conditions and Release & Agreement.
What if I want to arrange my own flights?
While it is not recommended, you can elect to make your own flight arrangements. To do so choose the “land only” option (without flights). If you select this option, you are responsible for booking your own flights arriving in time for the scheduled start of your tour as published; please review the itinerary closely as you may be required to arrive 1 day prior to the start of your trip based on time zone differences and travel times to said destination from your domestic home gateway. In those instances, you will be responsible for securing your own accommodations for the night prior to the start of the trip.
Do I need Travel Protection?
Our Travel Protection Plan, as well as trip cancellation, and out-of-province health insurance are not included in the listed fares. It is offered for purchase through a third-party vendor.
What if I need to arrive a day early or depart a day late?
When a pre or post accommodation is required for your trip due to preference or flight schedule, you will be responsible for securing those accommodations directly or with a Contiki Reservation Agent. If booked with a Contiki Reservation Agent, those nights are not included in your trip price and will incur additional costs if booked through Contiki or independently.
Please note that Contiki Air handles all transportation during your tour, so any flights between cities mentioned on your itinerary are included as part of your tour package. Transfers to and from the airport at your destination are not included in the tour price for travelers who purchase flights from Contiki Air.
A $350 additional air deposit will be required within 3 days of booking. Contiki Air must be paid in full 45 days prior to departure. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are all acceptable forms of payments. Airfare booked through Contiki Air can also be financed through Uplift upon checkout and rolled into monthly payment plans for traveler convenience.
If travelers require any special assistance, including but not limited to dietary restrictions, wheel chair and special medical conditions, requests can be processed through the Contiki Air department 45 days prior to departure.
