What's included in the cost of my trip?
Flights to and from your start and end destination are not included in the cost of your trip, but these can be added on when you book! All accommodations, internal transport, and a good handful of meals are included in the cost of your Contiki trip (in most regions we offer breakfast every day, plus a cherry-picked selection of authentic and tasty local meals). On top of this, we also include amazing travel experiences: the sights and activities we think you just can’t afford to miss (think a sunset cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge, or wine tasting in the Tuscan Hills to get you started). And then of course you also get our expert and highly trained team of Contiki staff; our Trip Managers, Drivers, and On-site Team members throughout our properties in Europe.
What does a Contiki Trip Manager do?
Your Contiki Trip Manager is a travel expert who will be with you from the start of your trip until the end. They know the destinations you visit better than anyone, and are there to provide killer local tips and historical trivia. They’ll be your friends as well as your guides, and are there to make sure everything runs smoothly and that you have the time of your life.
What kind of accommodations is included?
We have a whole mix of accommodations styles on our trips, depending on the destination and the travel style you have chosen. With us, you can stay in hotels, hostels, boats, camping sites, jungle lodges, eco camps, beach resorts, and even our very own 16th century French Chateau.
Do I have to share rooms with other travelers?
Shared accommodations is the standard on Contiki, and is all part of the group travel experience! How many people you’ll be sharing with depends on the region, travel style and type of accommodations, but twin or quad same-sex sharing is the norm. If you’re traveling with a pal or a partner we’ll always strive to put you both together. If you’re looking for a bit of privacy, on most trips we also give you the option to upgrade to a private room for an additional cost.
Can I come solo?
Nervous about traveling alone? Don't be! More than half of our travelers go solo, but no one finishes a Contiki without new friends. There’s no better way to make new travel buddies from around the world, and by the end of the trip you’ll feel like one big family.
